Job Description
At ProCook, we're not just passionate about kitchenware - we're hungry for data-driven insights! We're seeking a skilled Data Engineer to optimise our database architecture and transform our data landscape into a recipe for business success.

Role Overview:

As our Data Engineer, you'll be the guardian of our data ecosystem, maintaining and optimising our MySQL databases and Amazon RDS instances while supporting broader data engineering initiatives. You'll create robust data pipelines, implement cloud-based solutions, and collaborate with teams across the business to deliver insights that drive our culinary success story.

Requirements

Key Ingredients for Success:

Data Engineering & Cloud Technologies

Develop and maintain ETL pipelines for structured and unstructured data
Implement data ingestion strategies for AWS/Azure Data Lake solutions
Support Databricks integration and optimise datasets for Business Intelligence
Architect efficient database structures and enhance existing data models


Database Administration & Optimization

Maintain and optimize MySQL databases and AWS RDS instances
Implement query optimization techniques to enhance database efficiency
Design data archiving solutions for improved long-term storage
Ensure database performance, security, and availability


Collaboration & Monitoring

Work with data teams to establish a single source of truth
Partner with BI specialists to create clean, well-structured data models
Implement and manage Prometheus for monitoring
Develop Grafana dashboards for real-time pipeline observation

Essential Skills & Experience:

Technical Requirements:

Strong experience with MySQL administration and Amazon RDS
Advanced SQL skills including query tuning and optimisation
Proficiency in AWS (RDS, S3, Glue, Lambda) and Azure platforms
Experience with data lakes, Lakehouse architectures, and ETL processes
Python or Scala knowledge for data engineering tasks
Familiarity with GenAI, ML frameworks, and BI tools


Personal Qualities:

Problem-solving mindset with excellent troubleshooting abilities
Strong communication skills to work across technical and business teams
Self-motivated with ability to manage multiple priorities
Passion for continuous learning and emerging technologies

Preferred Qualifications:

Degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field
AWS/Azure certifications
Experience with big data processing frameworks
Exposure to MLOps and AI model deployment
