Job Description
Your Scope

The Master Data Expert (Architect & Quality) is a key role within the Data & Analytics Team, supporting the need for high-quality master data in our mission towards becoming a data-driven company. This role reports to the Data Architect & Governance Lead and works closely with stakeholders across Data, IT and business departments.

Key Responsibilities

Master Data Management & Quality Assurance

Oversee the maintenance of master data for key domains such as material, vendor and customer data.
Monitor and analyse master data to ensure accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
Identify areas for data quality improvements, define quality checks, verify implementations and support issue resolution.
Ensure compliance with data governance policies, standards and industry best practices.


Data Governance & Strategy

Develop, design, and implement data governance standards and policies and facilitate discussions around data ownership with different stakeholders.
Create and maintain a comprehensive data glossary and reference data for specific objects.
Identify areas for data quality improvements, define quality checks, verify the implementation and help to resolve data quality problems.


Data Architecture Support

Support the Master Data Architect in architectural design decisions and implementation.
Represent master data interests in business projects, ensuring timely and strategic data decisions aligned with the vision.
Collaborate with data owners, stewards, and other stakeholders to align data governance efforts with business needs.
Work closely with teams across Purchasing, Finance, Supply Chain, Production and Quality to ensure seamless data flows and integration.


Operational Support & Continuous Improvement

Assist in operational master data tasks when needed to stay closely connected with the team and assess real-world impacts.
Lead initiatives to improve efficiency within the master data team through process optimization and training.
Provide training and guidance to team members on data governance best practices.
Work closely together with the data owner and data stewards and assist in operational work if needed. Like this, you stay in close contact to the team and can assess impact on daily work.


Your profile

Technical Expertise

Minimum a few years of experience in master data management
Strong understanding of data governance principles, including data ownership models, stewardship, policies, and compliance
Knowledge of cross-stream data objects and flows across Purchasing, Finance, Supply Chain, Production, and Quality
Experience with master data systems, including SAP and data governance/data quality tools, is a plus
Proficiency in Excel, SQL, and reporting tools for data analysis and validation


Soft Skills

Strong analytical skills with a keen eye for detail and data accuracy
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and vice versa
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive mindset
Team player with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
Fluency in English is required, Dutch is a plus
