Job Description: About the role

You’ll get to join a brand new engineering function and be one of our first in house engineers. Until now, we’ve outsourced our development – but now’s the time to build a great team internally – to accelerate delivery.

Through optimising our digital journeys and integrating with 3rd parties – you'll play a key role in delivering brilliant, automated experiences for our customers.

Your expertise will be crucial in shaping the future of Egg’s technological landscape, ensuring robust and scalable systems that support our ambitious growth plans.

Location: London - hybrid 3 days in office with flexibility

Job Type: Full-time

Experience: 4+ years

What we’re looking for :

- 5+ years of full-stack or backend development experience
- 4+ years experience with a backend language eg. C#, Python, Node
- Proven experience working in a startup or product environment
- Strong foundations in relational databases (MySQL, Postgres)
- Experience working with Rest APIs and integrating third-party systems
- The ability to work autonomously, building, testing, and deploying product changes independently.
- Experience with Azure is a bonus

Current stack: C#, React, Next JS, Azure - be a part of shaping this going forward

How to stand out:

- Experience with multiple backend languages, cloud platforms, and event-driven architectures
- DevOps experience, maintaining CI/CD pipelines
- Experience with setting up and monitoring infrastructure would be beneficial
- Experience working with React, Typescript
- Industry experience is a bonus
