About The Role
We are a team of passionate engineers who love solving complex distributed systems and infrastructure problems. We are building Kora from the ground up to be a true managed service for clients who demand high levels of availability and performance at the lowest cost of ownership. In this role, you will be working on building highly available, reliable, secure, scalable, and multi-tenant Kora's compute layer. You will be instrumental in driving the technical solutions end-to-end, working closely with the team and key stakeholders to design, architect, and develop top-notch solutions. What You Will Do
Deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality, excited and driven by the challenges they will bring
Be customer focused - making customers more successful by taking on their most challenging problems
With a strong sense of teamwork, make decisions which benefit the team and company
Identify root causes, and get beyond treating symptoms - motivated to dig deep and solve hard problems
What You Will Bring
BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
4+ years of relevant cloud infrastructure/cloud networking experience
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
Experience building and operating large-scale systems in the Cloud
Solid understanding of basic systems operations (disk, network, operating systems, etc)
A self starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
Proficiency in Java, Scala, C/C++, Go or other statically typed languages
What Gives You An Edge
In-depth familiarity with the JVM
A strong background in distributed storage systems or databases
Experience in the areas of resource management and QoS
Experience/knowledge with public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP)
Interest in evangelism (giving talks at tech conferences, writing blog posts evangelizing Kafka)
Experience working on databases or data storage

About The Role
The Stream Processing & Analytics team has the vision to build an elastic, reliable, durable, cost effective and performant stream processing engine that smoothly works with the existing Confluent Cloud products. The Apache Flink based stream processing engine is at the heart of innovations that would unlock the next generation of use cases for Confluent Cloud, with the ability to impact the company’s top and bottom line. This role is at the crossroads of the Flink runtime and the underlying Confluent Cloud control plane. Ensuring a true cloud native experience for our users and customers
What You Will Do
Work on the Flink specific control plane to ensure that no customer statement is left behind and the engineering org can move fast by always being able to roll the latest fixes and improvements of Flink without worrying. You will play a crucial role in designing, developing and operationalizing high performance, scalable, reliable and resilient systems
Independently drive execution of software projects to deliver complex projects in production with a focus on quality
Build upon and contribute to open source software to deliver business impact
Troubleshoot issues and improve operations for complex technical stack that spans all the 3 clouds
What You Will Bring
BS, MS, or PhD in computer science or a related field, or equivalent work experience
4+ years of relevant stream processing experience
Strong fundamentals in distributed systems design and development
Experience building and operating large-scale systems
Solid understanding of cloud engineering
A self-starter with the ability to work effectively in teams
Proficiency in Go, and Java, or Scala
What Gives You An Edge
A strong background in distributed storage systems or databases
Experience/knowledge with public clouds (AWS, Azure or GCP) and Kubernetes operators
Contributions to OS projects especially in the stream processing area (especially for Flink)
