About Us:

Voltempo is developing Hyper Rapid DC charging solution for a range of commercial vehicles and sectors, initially here in the UK, but progressively, internationally as the transport sector electrifies. The company holds several international patents, it is engaged in the end-to-end design, supply, site commissioning and servicing of charging solutions. The business is currently scaling and is well supported by both its international shareholders and its role under the UK Govt eFreight programme, where it is leading a consortium of UK logistics fleet operators to deploy the UK first eHGVs charging network.

About the Role:


The Voltempo AWS DevOps Engineer is responsible for developing, deploying, and maintaining infrastructure on our software platform. Here are some key duties and responsibilities:
· Design, implement, and manage continuous deployment practices, infrastructure, build, deployment, and monitoring systems using our cloud AWS.
· Optimise performance and cost effectiveness of deployed applications using cloud resources.
· Automate software release processes with continuous delivery pipelines.
· Implement industry-standard DevOps tools for development, deployment, and operations tasks.
· Develop and enforce best practices for master and release management.
· Collaborate with the development team to integrate project changes and ensure system stability.
· Monitor AWS instances and services for performance and cost optimization.
· Ensure security and integrity of cloud-based applications and data by implementing best cloud security practices.
· Handle incident management and troubleshooting, problem diagnosis, and resolution.
· Document system and processes for future problem resolution and upgrades
Technical Skills
· AWS Services: Proficiency in AWS services like EC2, Amazon EKS, Amazon ECS, S3, Lambda, IAM, RDS, CloudFormation, and CloudWatch.
· Scripting and Automation: Strong knowledge of scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
· Infrastructure as Code (IaC): Experience with tools like Terraform, Ansible, or AWS CloudFormation.
· Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD): Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline, AWS Code Build, AWS Code Deploy, AWS CloudWatch Events.
· Containerization: Knowledge of containerization technologies like Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
· Version Control: Proficiency in version control systems like Git.
· Monitoring and Logging: Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, ELK stack, or AWS CloudWatch.
· Security: Understanding of security best practices and tools for securing AWS environments.
Key Work Activities:
Voltempo is scaling its operations, as it moves from product development to product commercialisation, this is a pivotal role in helping the business profitably scale accordingly the aims and objective’s will naturally change and would suit a seasoned professional who welcomes challenges, diversity, is familiar in working in a fast pace dynamic environment.
Strong communication and project management skills.
Degree in engineering or a related field is desirable.

What credential are we ideally looking for:

Impressive track record and experience from working in or with a power system product supplier bring new innovations to market. Experience of working in a SME would be desirable, highly collaborative, able to support the execution of technology, familiar and a keen interest in areas of low carbon energy technology – services, must be numerate with a strong analytical and problem-solving ability.
