The role
As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary where you’ll continue to deliver airworthy and serviceable aircraft to our customer in a fast paced, challenging and real-life operational setting critical to future defence output. We work on piston engine aircraft, with carbon fibre frames. Training can be provided for any gaps.
Day to day, you’ll work together in collaboration with our customer to provide aircrafts to be used in elementary flying training and air experience flights alongside auxiliary support services such as mechanical transport, air traffic control and airfield fire and crash rescue, as well as:
Help to drive the delivery of the flying activities at RAF Woodvale alongside your Babcock and Military colleagues by taking a ‘Whole Force’ approach to our activities and ensuring that Babcock’s excellent safety and delivery reputation is maintained at all times.
Responsible for the generation and release to service of serviceable and safe aircraft in accordance with civilian legislation/regulation and in line with Babcock company approvals.
Ensure aircraft engineering, line and depth maintenance and all other engineering related activities and services are provided as required to meet and exceed customer expectations and LAFT2 contractual needs at all times.
This is a full time role is based onsite at RAF Woodvale however the company may, on occasion, ask you to deploy to other sites or support detachments at other operating locations.
Essential Experience Of The Licensed Aircraft Engineer
Supervisory Experience in aviaition environment.
Qualifications For The Licensed Aircraft Engineer
EASA Part 66, B1.2 licence ( or successfully passed a number of modules towards the qualification)
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain BPSS security clearance for this role.

The role
As a Production Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This position blends technical expertise with dynamic collaboration, offering the unique opportunity to directly contribute to critical defence projects while engaging with diverse teams across Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Day-to-day, you’ll coordinate production control activities to support equipment repair and overhaul for Royal Navy Submarine and Warship programs, ensuring timely delivery, quality compliance, and effective collaboration with customers and internal teams.
Process equipment survey reports, identifying / ordering additional materials, sub-contracts and labour requirements.
Maintaining delivery against commercial contracts.
Provide technical support to bids for new work and variation orders for current work.
Carry out detailed planning of assigned work scope for projects/contracts to enable relevant control documentation to be produced for effective implementation by production group.
Estimation of work packages including the provision of labour and material estimates.
This role is full time 35, hours per week and is based on site at Devonport Royal Dockyard.
Essential Experience Of The Production Engineer
Experience with creating and maintaining bill of materials.
Understanding a range of milling, turning and drilling activities.
Understanding material specifications.
Report writing and delivery.
Interpretation of technical drawings.
Qualifications For The Production Engineer
NVQ 3 in an Engineering / Manufacturing discipline or demonstrable equivalent technical experience.

The Role
You’ll join the Digital Solutions Team, as a software developer, playing an active role in the through life engineering support to the UK naval fleet support, ensuring that submarines and submariners go to sea safely.
What you’ll do:
Lead requirement analysis, production, and review of technical design solutions of large/complex programmes, supporting the UK submarine fleet.
Lead efficient software development using good design – considering code reuse and efficiencies as well as innovative implementation methodologies.
Apply technical experience and knowledge in the evaluation of solutions and maintain technical awareness to a level where alternatives can be advised, analysed and modelled.
What you’ll need:
Knowledge of Oracle APEX web-based application development toolset.
Demonstrable competence developing complex server-side PL/SQL code for data input validate and data import/export.
JavaScript knowledge and experience.
Disciplined and methodical approach to configuration control.
