Senior DevOps Engineer
Contract Type: 12-month
Location: Leeds (Hybrid - 40% office-based)
Rate: Up to £750 per day (Inside IR35)
We are seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to join a highly collaborative team in a large public sector organisation. The successful candidate will act as a technical lead for a shared-services capability team within Working Age Services, bringing expert skills to develop, secure, and support cloud-based platforms and CI/CD processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead DevOps initiatives, emphasising Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) over manual processes.
Design, implement, secure, and support Unix/Linux-based platforms (RHEL/CentOS preferred) and develop solutions using Bash, Python, or Go.
Develop and support cloud platforms on AWS, ensuring robust and efficient service delivery.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI & Jenkins experience preferred).
Design and execute best practices for Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform, Packer, CloudFormation, and Cloud-Init.
Essential Technical Skills:
Proven experience in DevOps, with a strong background in CI/CD processes.
Advanced skills in Unix/Linux platform management and automation using Scripting languages.
Strong background in cloud-based application platforms, particularly AWS.
Expertise in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for scalable and secure environments.
Demonstrated ability to work and lead effectively in a complex, multi-disciplinary environment.

Digital Skills are pleased to be working with a leading specialist in Testing. We are supporting this client in sourcing some expert Senior Test Engineer with superb Python and Automation skills.
You will be working predominantly on site in Central London with 1 day a week remotely
Required Skills
Excellent Python skills
Automation skills in Selenium
Hands-on experience with Selenium-Python, Pytest, Pytest-BDD
Strong knowledge of REST API (RestAssured, Postman)
Version control in Git
Experience with CI/CD tools, especially Jenkins.
You will be Responsible for Test Automation; Developing (from Scratch) and maintaining automated test scripts using Python and Selenium. You will also be responsible for API Testing; Design and execute automated tests for REST APIs to ensure functionality, performance, and security.

This role touches on Test Strategy; helping to define, document, and implement test strategies and methodologies for both new and existing features as well as Bug Tracking.
You will be required to Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools (eg, JIRA).and work closely with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide timely feedback on test results.

This role works in an open-source environment, using Python, AWS and Selenium.
