Bumble is seeking multiple PHP Engineers to help in the ongoing development of our large-scale mobile and web applications backend.
You could be joining one of the following teams, all of which play an important part in creating a delightful experience for our members;
The Trust & Safety team is dedicated to catching bad actors and preventing them from harming good users. This pivotal role zeroes in on the vital low-level components of our engine, offering you the chance to shape the experiences of millions of users worldwide. With deep integration with AI-powered technologies, we build a comprehensive shield which protects millions of our customers.
The Registration and Profile team owns a core domain of our application. The team’s mission is to ensure a seamless user experience from signup to profile view and management. You’ll collaborate with experienced and driven engineers who thrive with technical challenges and value every team member's contribution.

What you’ll do
Participate in the creation of a large scale backend API, which receives over 50k requests per second and handles millions of concurrent users
Take ownership and build a strategy for complex components of the system, including making architectural decisions, along with influencing strategy for the whole system
Launch and support optimisation initiatives, both with code and hardware, and design frameworks for performance monitoring and visualisation
Suggest and implement cutting-edge, innovative solutions to enhance our backend infrastructure
Proactively communicate with colleagues, managers, and the wider team to refine application design
Actively engage in the whole process of development, from initial design to deployment and support
Write backend code and design databases, focusing on backend logic without client-side coding
Contribute to the design, development, and deployment of services as part of our larger architectural transformation

About you:
Extensive experience of the PHP language
Experience in relational databases and SQL, preferably MySQL
Understanding how to optimise and fine-tune backend application that uses MySQL or other external data sources
Experience with caching, sharding, replication, reliability and scalability issues
Knowledge of *nix console environment
Experience in building large-scale solutions
Strong collaboration skills
Proven experience collaborating on large, complex backend projects with multiple people involved
Strong will to learn new technologies and focus on personal growth
Solid communication skills and collaborative mindset

The manager of the analytics engineering unit will support the analytics engineering programme across Bumble Inc, hiring for the best talent, advising on the tooling roadmap, and creating a data governance and quality management process applicable to all brands and domains. This hire will have a proven track record in analytics engineering and will have scaled analytics teams in previous organisations. This is a key hire to help with prioritisation of work, embedding of analytics engineers, and formation of a close partnership with the data platform team.
This role will help develop the analytics engineering programme and the capabilities across the analytics organisation. They will work to train, hire, and manage the performance of the team, tools, and standards put into place.

What you'll do;
Manage a team of analytics engineers, driving prioritisation, and working closely with other managers to ensure the team is delivering the most important tasks to the business
Onboard analytics engineering tools and roll this out with the relevant talent and standards across decentralised organisations.
Set up best practices around data governance, quality, observability, and lineage
Provide support in the growth and career ladders of the various analytics engineers, coaching them where necessary.
Drive training, documentation, and penetration of both dbt and Looker, owning the metrics around successful implementation.
Own the analytics engineering roadmap and be able to flex resource as required.
Support Set and track OKRs for the analytics engineering at large, with a focus on quality, reliability, speed, and accessibility.

About you;
5+ years experience in leading analytics engineering, data engineering, or automation teams, working in a fast paced environment
Experience managing analytics engineers and being in charge of prioritisation, strategic decision-making, and resource distribution.
You will have on-boarded data tooling across the entire data value chain and are familiar with different combinations of vendors, their optimal ways of integrating with each other. You understand the need for training, documentation, and can speak to the impact you have driven through similar initiatives.
You can speak to the impact you have driven on an enterprise-wide data clean-up before, re-establishing reporting, sources of truth, KPI alignment, and a dashboarding ecosystem relevant for all stakeholders.
You are able to advise on growth frameworks and career opportunities for analytics engineers.
You have experience working with complex data infrastructures and have experience partnering and guiding the work of data engineering to help facilitate ingestion, warehousing, and optimisation of databases.
Engaging, inspiring and clear communicator. A proven track record of overhauling data landscapes and engaging stakeholders to get their buy-in.
Strong automation and growth mindset that is cascaded to the teams.
Deep engineering and data infrastructure understanding of both 3rd party vendors and bespoke in-house solutions.
Experience in guiding the planning and prioritisation efforts of your teams in a busy and fast moving environment
Experience with python/SQL, visualisation tooling such as Looker/Tableau, and data stack tooling across transformation, collection, and data science.

Bumble Inc. is seeking a Senior Data Scientist to lead our efforts in developing sophisticated Customer and Marketing Measurement models, tailored specifically for our unique ecosystem. You would ideally have a background in data science at either a dating, social, gaming or other relevant tech company, with proven experience in driving commercial impact through applying analytics to critical business problems.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to harness the power of data and analytics in unlocking key insights into marketing effectiveness and revenue generation. Your primary focus will be on developing advanced marketing measurement frameworks, including Media Mix Models (MMM) and incrementality testing, to optimize our investment across acquisition, retention, and monetization strategies.
You bring experience working with complex sources of revenue, spend and behavioral data and use that knowledge to partner with stakeholders and senior leaders, taking a holistic approach to measurement and optimization. You are comfortable challenging priorities and clearly communicating analytical roadmaps. You’re able to effectively balance demands for both tactical and strategic work and also have experience managing projects across analytics engineering, data science, and MLOps.

Key Accountabilities:
Lead the development of advanced marketing measurement models, including Media Mix Models (MMM) and incrementality testing, to assess the impact of marketing investments and optimize budget allocation
Collaborate closely with stakeholders and senior leaders to identify key business problems, challenge priorities, and provide actionable insights derived from marketing effectiveness analysis
Guide others on techniques and ways of working and help build a culture of critical thinking, commercial acumen, and disciplined execution in alignment with senior management

Required Experience & Skills:

Proven experience in building and deploying ML and statistical models for marketing measurement
5+ years of experience with Python/SQL, machine learning/data science tooling such as Kubeflow/Streamlit, and visualization tooling such as Looker/Tableau

We are looking for an Integrity Operations Specialist to join our Trust Operations team. We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on candidate who thrives in a cross-functional environment and is excited to support the evolution of our Trust Operations team.
In this role, you will investigate safety concerns and provide compassionate, trauma-informed support to members facing safety issues across multiple platforms. You will help uphold Bumble Inc.’s Community Guidelines by reviewing and enforcing actions on violating accounts and content to maintain a safe and respectful environment. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with sensitive content, including child exploitation, graphic or physical sexual violence, suicide and self-harm, and other potentially distressing material. Trust and safety are embedded in Bumble Inc.’s mission of creating a world where all relationships are healthy and equitable. Our wider Trust organization includes the centralized and dedicated teams focused on:

What You'll Do:
Review and take action on user reports and proactive detections related to safety concerns, including harassment, threats, non-consensual imagery, and other violations of Bumble Inc.’s Community Guidelines
Provide high-touch, trauma-informed safety support to members who have experienced safety incidents
Collaborate with internal teams, including Trust & Safety, Customer Experience, and Legal, to escalate and resolve complex safety cases
Help enforce Bumble Inc.’s policies by reviewing and processing accounts and content flagged for safety violations
Participate in on-call rotations, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as needed

Required Experience & Skills:
2-4 years of experience in a Trust & Safety, customer support, crisis response, or content moderation role, preferably in a high-risk or safety-focused environment
Demonstrated ability to work with sensitive content and provide support in cases involving child exploitation, sexual violence, and self-harm
Experience handling high-touch safety escalations, particularly those involving vulnerable individuals
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to provide clear, empathetic, and professional responses
Experience collaborating with Business Process Outsourcers (BPOs) to ensure quality and consistency in safety-related workflows is preferred
Ability to work independently, prioritize urgent tasks, and make sound judgment calls under pressure
Proficiency in Spanish, Portuguese, French, or another second language is preferred
