About the role
We are looking for a talented Senior or Staff Engineer to join our Consumer Onboarding team.
The Consumer Onboarding team is responsible for making our customer's first experience with Wise easy, simple and delightful. We do that by building systems and experiences that can scale onboarding across the world just like Wise does, while working with many different teams to welcome and introduce our customers to Wise’s offering and how to use them to solve their cross currency needs.
Our team builds systems that onboard more than 500,000 users a month - and as one of the senior engineers in the team, you’ll play a fundamental role in shaping their experience with Wise.
We are looking for an experienced frontend engineer with strong web expertise who can work closely with product, design and analytics to shape and build Wise’s onboarding experience.
As a Senior Frontend Engineer, You Will
Collaborate closely with product, design, analytics and other teams across the company to deliver impactful experiences to Wise’s customers - as a cross functional team
Be responsible for the overall health and quality of the frontend services that power Wise’ onboarding experience
Work closely with your team to plan, scope and build consistent experience across Wise’s web and native applications
Work closely with your lead to own the availability and scalability of our onboarding product flows and architecture and help shape your team’s technical roadmap
Have the opportunity to guide and mentor your junior peers through their technical and professional growth
Have an impact across the broader Wise product and across Wise engineering as a whole,
Work closely with other teams to drive cross team technical initiatives to scale and grow the technical landscape that powers Wise’s onboarding experience
What do you need?
We are fully aware that it is uncommon for a candidate to have all skills required and we fully support everyone in learning new skills with us. So if you have some of those listed below and are eager to learn more we do want to hear from you!
Experience building and designing scalable and performant systems that handle large amounts of traffic - ideally using React based frontend applications, Javascript / Typescript
Experience with modern frontend testing practices, like end to end testing and visual regression testing and frameworks like jest, chromatic, cypress or similar
Experience with Continuous Integration and package management tooling like pnpm, Artifactory, Github Actions and others.
Experience working closely with and collaborating actively with backend engineers to drive architecture and API design
A strong product mindset and passion for UX – you prioritise work with customers in mind and make data-driven decisions to fix customer pain-points
Great communication skills and the ability to articulate complex, technical concepts to non-technical audiences
It Would a Bonus If You Also Have
Experience with modern frontend frameworks like Next.js, SSR and Turborepo/monorepos
Exposure to analytics and experimentation tooling such as Mixpanel, Hotjar, ABTasty, Optimisely or similar
Exposure to backend languages or technologies such as Java, Spring Boot, microservices architectures or microfrontends

We need a Database Reliability Engineer to join our mission and help us build a global platform that’s scalable, reliable and secure. You’ll dive right into projects in Database Reliability Engineering spanning the breadth of Wise to deliver value for our customers.
Job Description
We are looking for a Database Reliability Engineer with a strong Software Development, or DevOps, background and a passion for Database Engineering and maintaining critical services to join Wise’s Database Reliability Engineering (DBRE) team.
The DBRE team are the owners and maintainers of the Wise database engine, which underpins almost every Wise user experience. Our mission is to superpower the Wise revolution with reliable, scalable and performant databases to store and recall data, and provide solutions and best practices within our organisation.
DBREs work in very tight collaboration with the Database Platform team creating a blend of database engineering, dev-ops and software developers that apply sound engineering principles, operational discipline and mature software development and automation, specialising in databases (MariaDB, MongoDB, PostgreSQL and Redis in particular). In that capacity, DBREs bring database expertise to the Database Engineering group as well as to our engineering teams.
As an international Financial Services company, we also have the responsibility to keep our customers’ money and data safe. The DBRE team plays a critical role in this - by helping our Product Engineers work with Databases safely and ensure that best practices are always applied. To do this we work closely with the other teams building out the Data Platform, and with the wider Platform organisation to build out the required guardrails.
Who We Are Looking For
Here's what we're looking for in a Database Reliability Engineer, but don't be intimidated – if you're passionate about learning and interested in what we do, we'd love to hear from you.
We value a balance between robust engineering skills and a good understanding of database technologies. Ideally, you'll have experience in both areas, with a strong Software Development, or DevOps, background, but if you’re strong in one and eager to learn the other, you could be a great fit too.
Professional Experience
Experience working with relational databases, ideally MariaDB/MySQL, or alternatively PostgreSQL, in production environments.
Have a background as a software developer or DevOps
Familiarity with managing databases in high-demand, 24/7 environments.
Database Skills
Strong knowledge of SQL and PL/pgSQL—debugging and optimization skills are a big plus.
Understanding of database internals and performance tuning for MariaDB/MySQL or PostgreSQL.
Knowledge of backup and recovery processes.
Engineering Skills
Experience designing, implementing, and testing solutions following software engineering principles.
Programming skills in an object-oriented language (Python or Go is a plus).
Experience with infrastructure automation and configuration management tools such as Chef, Ansible, Puppet, or Terraform.
Cloud Experience
Familiarity with cloud technologies, preferably AWS (experience with Aurora and other AWS managed services is beneficial).
Nice To Have
Have experience working in a distributed production environment.
Experience with MongoDB (or any other NoSQL technologies)
Experience in building self-service tooling that helps engineers, analysts or data scientists do their job more efficiently

We are looking for a Senior Solutions Engineer to join our growing Wise Platform team in London. The Wise Platform team works with top tier global financial institutions and major tech companies to offer Wise products and services directly to their customers.
Through our API, we help partners to architect and build integrations to our world class-leading international finance products, which in turn improves Wise Platform by increasing the capabilities of our public API.
This role will facilitate growth, troubleshoot and enhance the product offerings of Wise.
What will you be working on?
As part of the Wise Platform team, you’ll play a key role in providing technical consulting and product guidance to top tier banks and other partners integrating Wise into their products, primarily in a post-sale capacity.
You'll Be
Acting as a trusted advisor and conduit between partners and Wise where your technical expertise will enhance the product development and integration process.
Defining technical solutions, gathering requirements and supporting the delivery of integrations tailored to each partner’s needs.
Supporting partners during the bespoke implementation collaborating across teams to ensure smooth delivery.
Managing multiple integrations in parallel and navigating ambiguity.
You’ll Also Focus On
Improving the integration experience for banks, including enhancing documentation, APIs, SDKs, examples, code samples, and reference implementations.
Collaborating with the technical presales team to support the sales cycle and win new partnerships.
Streamlining internal processes to increase the team’s capacity
Designing and developing new features across Wise services and exposing them on our public API.
Identifying and troubleshooting technical issues within the Wise product stack, supporting the API support team as a second line when complex issues arise.

Qualifications

Job Description
We are seeking a Talented Markets Data Scientist (Quantitative researcher) with expertise in FX risk modelling to join our dynamic Treasury team. This role focuses on driving our FX risk and pricing models and optimising their impact on our trading strategies.
Your work will have a direct impact on Wise’s mission and millions of our customers.
As part of the team, you’ll be at the forefront of designing, implementing, and refining models that manage foreign exchange (FX) risk, optimising the effectiveness of hedging strategies, supporting pricing, and influencing decision-making processes across the organisation. Your mission is to help us assess and manage our risks in real time, and help us keep lowering our prices and keep our market risk capital requirements scalable.
Our FX team manages the risk on our GBP 105bn+ FX book and our GBP 15bn of customer assets.
Here’s How You’ll Be Contributing
FX Risk modelling and analysis
Develop and maintain advanced FX risk models, leveraging cutting-edge quantitative techniques to assess and manage FX risks (scenario modelling, stress testing, BAU risk metrics)
Perform back-testing and calibration of models to ensure accuracy, robustness, and regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with engineering teams to implement models within the risk and trading platforms, ensuring scalability and operational efficiency.
Develop bespoke models and analyses in preparation for market stress events and new product launches
Customer-centric insights
Conduct in-depth quantitative analysis to support pricing strategies and deliver insights on FX impacts on customer portfolios and products.
Model customer behaviour under various FX and market scenarios, informing decisions that maximise customer value and minimise risk.
Proactively monitor and assess the customer impact of FX fluctuations, recommending risk mitigation strategies that align with customer needs and regulatory standards.
Collaborative strategy development
Work closely with FX dealers to integrate model findings into real-time risk management and FX hedging strategies underpinned by customer behaviour models across a multi-region portfolio of products and currencies, including many exotics.
Partner with product and operational teams to translate complex FX risk scenarios into actionable insights for customer-focused solutions.
Document and present model results and risk assessments to senior stakeholders, controllers and the Risk team (the second line of defence). Explain complex concepts and propose strategies that align with the company’s risk appetite and business objectives.
A Bit About You
Strong Python knowledge. Ability to read through code, especially Java. Demonstrable experience collaborating with engineers.
Strong knowledge in at least a few of the following areas: statistics, machine learning, linear algebra, optimisation.
A good understanding of FX market fundamentals and risk management methods and techniques, including VaR/sVAR, EVT/ES, PFE, XFA and Monte Carlo methods.
A strong product mindset with the ability to work in a cross-functional and cross-team environment;
Good communication skills and ability to get the point across to non-technical individuals;
Strong problem solving skills with the ability to help refine problem statements and figure out how to solve them.
Skills
Some extra skills that are great (but not essential):
Experience in interest rate and cashflow modelling, derivatives pricing (including exotic options), behavioural models
Real FX trading experience (especially with algorithms)
Experience with building and maintaining backtesting engines and quantifying backtesting output using standard industry metrics (e.g. Sharpe, Sortino)
