What will I be doing:
As a software engineer, you will be responsible for developing robust authentication flows, advancing product-to-product communication and building plugins. As you will be helping to integrate products for a wide range of teams, you will be exposed to many varied technologies and stakeholders.
This is a hybrid role, and the expectation would be to work a minimum of 2 days a week in the Cambridge office.
As a Software Engineer you will be responsible for, but not limited to:
Contributing to rapid prototyping of new and innovative ideas to further improve Darktrace’s services and offerings,
Improving the performance and competencies of existing products and platforms,
Investigating and furthering our unique methodology in defending against unknown cyber-attacks.
What experience do I need:
We welcome applications from candidates who have a solution focused mindset combined with an analytical approach to problem-solving. During the interview process you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to program using Python and JavaScript and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Additionally, it’s likely that you’ll be:
Comfortable working autonomously and taking independent decisions as well as having the ability to work cooperatively within a team,
Able to show knowledge or interest in cyber-security / malware forensics,
Familiar with Docker,
Knowledgeable about cloud computing environments.
Experience of working with a range of other programming languages such Node.JS or TypeScript would also be beneficial but isn’t essential.

This is a hybrid role, with a compulsory attendance of 3 days a week in the Cambridge office.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The UI Developer you will work both collaboratively and independently to deliver cutting edge cyber security solutions. You will be tasked with creating and maintaining dynamic user interfaces, enhancing user experience, improving technical feasibility and improving on specifics around speed and scalability.
Additionally you will be:
Engaging in cross-functional collaboration with back-end developers, UX/UI designers, product managers, and other stakeholders to deliver cohesive and high-quality solutions,
Participating in design sprints and brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas and solutions,
Ensuring the technical feasibility and performance of UI/UX designs through rigorous testing and optimization,
Conducting comprehensive user interface compatibility tests across various browsers, devices, and environments,
Debugging and resolving complex code issues and software bugs through systematic troubleshooting and problem-solving techniques,
Creating and maintaining detailed documentation for UI design patterns, coding standards, and best practices,
Proactively updating and refining web applications based on user feedback, analytics, and emerging trends.
Qualifications & Experience:
We welcome applications from engineers who have a solution-focused mindset combined with an analytical approach and problem-solving skills. During the interview process you’ll be able to demonstrate your ability to program using JavaScript and React and will show an understanding of writing code in a production environment. Your application will additionally benefit from:
A portfolio and/or public GitHub repository showcasing your previous work,
Prior experience and knowledge of Redux, Recharts and React Query,
Demonstrable skill in translating designs accurately from Figma,
A strong foundational knowledge of programming methodologies and data structures, particularly when dealing with big data,
Knowledge of cloud computing space, including AWS and Azure.

You will join the significant R&D teams in Cambridge that create and improve the products behind the company’s rapid growth. Our software engineers work across a wide variety of projects and with a diverse toolset.
Contributing to projects ranging from the rapid prototyping of new ideas,
Working to the solid structured development of existing platforms,
Working towards the aim of furthering our unique methodology in defending against unknown cyber-attacks,
Innovation is of paramount importance and as such, creativity in approach is encouraged as much as traditional project-based development,
The role requires the core competency of python development but will expand to become more specialised in one or more areas of technology.
