Our opportunity

As a Senior IT Business Analyst you will join a high-profile team of business analysts, solution architects and developers, working on a global platform used by Zurich’s Commercial Insurance customers and brokers worldwide.

This role will primarily focus on market-facing APIs and platform-wide technical initiatives to align with market needs and the strategic direction of the organization.

This is a fulltime hybrid role where you will be working from our office Diegem, Belgium.

Your role

As a Senior IT Business analyst, you will be responsible for:

API Client Onboarding: supporting our new corporate clients and brokers during their onboarding process to our Market Facing APIs offering.
API initiatives: leading API initiatives, which usually involve conducting deep analysis on systems’ data models, performing data mapping and designing new or enhancing existing APIs in close collaboration with the Product Owner and development team.
Platform-wide technical Initiatives: defining and optimizing platform wide non-functional requirements in close collaboration with the Platform Owner, including monitoring, scalability and system performance.
Incident Troubleshooting: troubleshooting API and technical incidents with internal and external systems and ensure communication with affected parties throughout the resolution
Documentation: documenting business solution concepts and creating API catalogues/developer guides.

Your Skills And Experience

The ideal candidate will have a combination of deep expertise in APIs, a strong technical foundation and the ability to communicate complex technical topics to non-technical stakeholders.

5+ years of experience as a IT Business Analyst or Solution Analyst.
Strong understanding of APIs (their purposes, how they are used and the technology involved).
Proficient in JSON, XML, Swagger, Postman for user stories creation and data validation
Strong SQL knowledge for data mapping analysis and incident troubleshooting
Ability to draw and explain complex technical concepts and processes to various stakeholders (including Subject Matter Experts, Management and IT)
Proactive, self-starter and quick learner with a ‘Get things done’ attitude
Advanced written and spoken English skills are non-negotiable

Bonus points

Insurance domain knowledge.
Experience with Azure or other cloud environments
Experience in agile driven environments and team environments

The opportunity:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Data Analyst to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for analysing complex data sets, generating reports, and providing actionable insights that will drive business decisions. This role requires a strong understanding of data analysis techniques, statistical methods, and data visualisation tools.

What will you be doing?

Analyse data to inform problem statements and solution design, ensuring accuracy, completeness and integrity.
Perform analysis of the use of data across end to end business processes to understand end to end data impacts.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address business challenges and opportunities.
Identify data quality issues, investigate root causes and recommend corrective actions.
Contributing to our data governance journey by implementing and adhering to our data management best practice.
Collaborate with team members to enhance our data ecosystem, data models and related analytical capabilities.
Provide support for testing and business readiness activities to ensure the seamless delivery of change.

What are we looking for?

As one of our Data Analysts, you'll be able to evidence end-to-end experience of the project lifecycle and be able to provide analysis across a range of projects or operational workstreams. This will include support for system testing and UAT.
You will demonstrate an understanding of how data can shape business decisions.
Experience in working with data at a detailed level, and understanding how data can be structured and utilised for reporting and analytics
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work with complex datasets
Familiarity with databases and SQL.
Ideally you will have experience with one or more reporting platforms such as Qlik, Power BI etc
Attention to detail is a must, with a true commitment to data accuracy and integrity.

Zurich Engineering is looking to expand our highly skilled, field-based, Engineer Surveyor team, and we currently have a vacancy in the Home Counties area for a Lift and Crane/Power Press Engineer Surveyor.

What will I be doing?

You’ll start with our industry-leading, bespoke training and move swiftly to carrying out hands-on statutory inspections, providing your expert opinion on a wide range of equipment, enabling our clients to comply with all relevant legislation and to the exacting standards both we and our clients demand. Following your inspection, we’ll need you to report back using a rugged laptop, and then issue electronically to our clients, so good IT skills and high levels of literacy are required. You will be an excellent communicator, and confident in your ability to make sound engineering judgements.

What skills/qualifications will I have?

You will be an experienced engineer with a sound knowledge of your engineering discipline and be part of our multi-disciplined inspection team within your geographic area. You will report to a Team Manager and be based from home, with your client base a reasonable travelling distance from your home.

Because this role is SAFed governed, we need you to ideally have obtained:
A Level 4 qualification (HND / HNC etc.) in a relevant engineering field
Either a time served or Modern Apprenticeship
Hands-on experience in a relevant engineering discipline
A background in working with lifts and/or crane equipment would be an advantage, with hands on experience of working in a role such as manufacturing / repair / maintenance / mechanical / motor trade.
A background in working with machine tools, presses and injection moulding (not essential but helpful).
A full valid UK driving licence.
Be willing and able to work paid overtime.
