As exciting projects land, we have an opportunity for a contract Senior/ Principal Mechanical Process Engineer to join our friendly, supportive, and creative engineering team, working with BakerHicks' key clients in the Life Science sector.
This role may require occasional client site visits.
Responsibilities
Perform the role of mechanical lead
Produce mechanical engineering design deliverables (including calculations, datasheets, specifications, scopes of work and schedules)
Contribute to safety reviews, constructability reviews and other risk assessments as appropriate.
Checking mechanical deliverables to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project briefs and customer requirements.
Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors
Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation
Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings
Assist in plant layout development

Essential
About You
Degree in Mechanical Engineering
Willing and able to obtain security clearance
Significant experience in delivering Process Mechanical Engineering designs – preferably in the life science sector (or other highly regulated sectors)
Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams.
Desirable
Chartered Engineer Status
Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
Want to take ownership, be innovative, use initiative and be driven by client satisfaction

An in-depth understanding of the industry’s regulatory and safety requirements means we can control the process conditions and the risks. From feasibility through to decommissioning, we help clients at every project stage and scale, ensuring functional safety throughout.
As our team has grown, we have a number of opportunities for Senior Electrical Engineers to become permanent members of our friendly, supportive and creative engineering team in our London office, supporting on various projects in the Aviation Sector.
While this role offers hybrid working, there will be the occasional requirement to support our clients onsite at their offices at Heathrow and Gatwick, to maintain the established existing relationship.
About You
We are looking for people who:
Value quality and enjoy delivering technically excellent Electrical designs in the built environment
Want to take ownership, be innovative, use initiative and are driven by client satisfaction
Have experience in delivering on medium-size projects or managing packages on large projects in the Aviation sector
Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
Have experience in mentoring junior engineers
Have experience in contributing to bids, proposals, and tender specifications
Hold a relevant degree and chartered or willing to work towards this
Eligible to pass criteria for security clearance and airside pass applications
