About The Job
We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to join us at the Account team, a critical part of the Scaleway Elements cloud ecosystem. Our team manages user accounts, personal data, support plans, fraud detection, and more, while working closely with other product teams to ensure a cohesive platform experience.

You’ll be joining a collaborative squad of developers who value teamwork and are always looking for ways to improve. The team is welcoming, supportive, and enjoys tackling challenges together. In this role, you will not only take ownership of DevOps tasks but also actively contribute to the development of new features.

You’ll collaborate with the front-end and back-end developers to deliver enhancements for Scaleway’s Console, always ensuring high code quality. We place a strong emphasis on automated testing to ensure confidence during deployments. Agility and continuous delivery help us gather client feedback frequently, leading to continuous platform improvements.

You will work closely with the tech lead, who will guide technical decisions. While this role does not come with immediate leadership responsibilities, it offers plenty of room for growth. We expect you to take on significant responsibilities, contribute to technical discussions, and help shape best practices in both DevOps and development.

How We Work

Two-week sprints: We work in agile two-week sprint cycles to ensure we can quickly iterate and deliver value
Product Manager: You’ll work closely with a Product Manager to prioritize work that aligns with business goals and customer needs
Retrospectives and sprint planning: At the end of each sprint, we reflect on what went well and plan for the next one
Daily stand-ups: Each day starts with a quick meeting to sync up on progress and address any blockers
Squad meetings and team time: Every two weeks, we hold a squad meeting to focus on strategic planning and align across teams, along with dedicated "team time" to foster collaboration
Doctoring role: We rotate a one-week "doctoring" role, where one team member is responsible for addressing urgent production issues and ensuring smooth operations
In-days: Throughout the year, we hold several in-days for learning, innovation, and team bonding, giving us the opportunity to dive deep into technical challenges or explore new ideas



What’s Expected Of You

Develop and maintain new features in the Scaleway ecosystem
Optimize deployment pipelines for fast, reliable, and high-quality feature delivery
Collaborate with the team to establish robust testing, monitoring, and alerting practices
Participate in architectural and design discussions to build scalable, resilient systems
Work with the tech lead and developers to balance technical innovation with practical, effective solutions
Take every opportunity to reduce technical debt and improve code quality
Engage in agile ceremonies (stand-ups, retrospectives, etc.) to support a productive team environment
Be willing to learn and improve every day



Preferred Qualifications

Experience with micro-service ecosystems
You have already deployed a production application on a cloud platform
Knowledge of gRPC and Protobuf
Fluent in Golang and/or Python
Familiar with common DevOps tooling like Docker / CI-CD / Ansible / Gitlab CI
Fluent in SQL no matter how many JOINs are involved
You’re well versed in software architecture design
A knowledge of network architecture is a plus
Have a good written and spoken English
