On behalf of a major Oil & Gas operator, WRS are looking for a Piping Engineer to work in Reading on a contract basis. The contract will run until end of Spetember 2025, based residentially in the contractor offices in Reading, paying an hourly rate.
The role will be supporting the development of a gas compression project, in the FEED/Detailed Engineering phases.
Job Duties:
Review and assess design drawings, materials, and equipment specifications.
Ensure compliance with international codes, standards, and project specifications.
Plan and schedule project activities to meet deadlines.
Oversee contractor design, procurement, and construction to maintain project integrity.
Participate in HAZOP studies, constructability workshops, and risk assessments.
Monitor 3D model reviews, TAG resolution, and interface coordination.
Provide engineering input for early construction scope and change orders.
Ensure project progresses as per schedule and maintains efficiency in piping systems.
Implement and enforce safety measures in the workplace.
Requirements:
Experience working with a major energy company is required.
Right to work in the UK
Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
10-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas projects from FEED to completion.
Strong expertise in engineering design and field implementation.
Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Knowledge of international engineering standards and best practices.

On behalf of a major oil and gas operator, I am searching for a Transport & Installation (T&I) Engineer to join them in Paris, France, on a 12 month renewable contract.
This will be participating in the development of the T&I engineering and execution preparation activities related to the German Offshore Wind projects.
Requirement:
Engineering degree, preferably in Marine Engineering, Civil or Structural Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering,
Proven experiences in the Offshore & Marine engineering related to Offshore wind,
Proven expertise in offshore T&I activities related to OFW projects,
Proven exposure to offshore execution phase (fabrication and installation), if possible, on all 3 subjects of WTG, FOU and IAC installation,
Previous technical expertise in offshore wind operations, including knowledge of the technical and safety regulatory landscape (preferably in Germany)
EU passport - Candidates will be required to be residential in Paris, with trips for Germany.

SURF Riser Specialist Engineer
Deepwater Project (Paris, France & Europe)
Are you an experienced SURF Riser Specialist Engineer looking to work on a major deepwater greenfield project? We are seeking a highly skilled professional to lead the Steel Lazy Wave Riser (SLWR) design activities for a large offshore development project.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all SLWR design activities during FEED, Tendering, and EPCI phases.
Manage contractor technical studies, documentation, and compliance with project requirements.
Lead technical clarifications, evaluations, and approvals related to SURF tenders.
Optimize riser configurations, interface management, and installation support.
Ensure HSE, QA/QC, and technical integrity throughout the project lifecycle.
Work closely with SPS, FPSO, and Umbilical teams to manage interfaces and risks.
Project Overview:
Location: Paris, France (initially) (Right to Work in France/EU Required), then engineering sites in Europe during execution.
Duration: 1-2 years (renewable).
Project Scope: Development of a deepwater offshore field (>3000m), including steel risers, flowlines, umbilicals, and associated subsea infrastructure.
Candidate Requirements:
Master’s degree in engineering (specialization in subsea pipelines/risers).
10+ years of experience in offshore SURF deepwater projects.
Strong background in SLWR design, including flexible or titanium stress joints.
Expertise in DNV codes and standards (TotalEnergies General Specifications preferred).
Prior experience with major SURF contractors on deepwater projects.
Ability to work in multicultural, large-scale project teams.
Fluent English required.
