IT Project Manager - Telecommunications and Utilities
Location: Bristol
Rate: £500 per day (outside IR35)
Duration: initial 3-month contract followed by rolling extensions

About the Role:
An international telecommunications organisation is seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to help ensure a variety of small to medium sized IT related projects are delivered on time, within budgets and to a high degree of quality. You will work for the organisation on a project for a renowned international energy company. You will be assigned to a number of project and report to a Senior Projects / Programme Manager who will support and be a point of escalation.

You must have suitable practical experience of project managing technical and functional
change at workstream level from inception to implementation on complex projects. You will work with a group of experienced Consultant and Contractors from different organisations. You will also develop and nurture relationships with business counterparts to and ensure that they become “the voice of the business” to enable the design teams to accurately understand business requirements, ways of working and desired outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
Working within the Digital and IT Team, project manage the implementation and delivery of multiple small to medium projects to Time, Cost and Quality.
Plan and organise the activities and related meetings and touchpoints across the projects assigned to them.
Drive and ensure delivery of the planned activities whilst providing delivery assurance oversight.
Manage the Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies.
Produce the Project Delivery Plan to fulfil activities on the pipeline.
Manage and produce weekly project reporting and submit to a deadline.
Coordinate project dependency tasks between services lines within Digital and IT.
Support the Digital & IT finance team with the overall IM finances.
Manage the delivery of key documentation and assurance processes to ensure quality is “Right First Time”.

Knowledge & Experience
Effective leadership competencies with excellent written and oral communication.
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels.
Confident decision-making ability with good protocols for gaining stakeholder agreement where necessary.
Management of multiple business change workstreams operating within a multi-million-pound change portfolio, preferably in an IT environment.
Experience in project management, ideally in an IT technical or functional area.
Skilled in MS Project, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
Previous experience in Engineering Change Management and IT System Integrations is desirable.
Previous experience in nuclear, energy, construction or manufacturing is desirable

Key Responsibilities:
Working within the Digital and IT Team, project manage the implementation and delivery of multiple small to medium projects to Time, Cost and Quality.
Plan and organise the activities and related meetings and touchpoints across the projects assigned to them.
Experience in delivering enterprise platforms is required, Electronic Document and Record Management Systems and/or Product Lifecycle Management System in particular
Specific experience with Siemens Teamcenter and/or Dassault Systemes 3DX would be beneficial.
Excellent stakeholder management, financial control and schedule management are critical to succeeding in this role. The PM will work with a wide range of business stakeholders, briefing to Director level.
Use business analysis skills as well as broad technical architecture skills to agree and deliver an approach that will deliver.
Drive and ensure delivery of the planned activities whilst providing delivery assurance oversight.
Manage the Risks, Issues, Assumptions and Dependencies.
Produce the Project Delivery Plan to fulfil activities on the pipeline.
Manage and produce weekly project reporting and submit to a deadline.
Coordinate project dependency tasks between projects and services lines within Digital and IT.
Manage the project budget and accurately report ACWP to the Digital & IT finance team.
Manage the delivery of key documentation and assurance processes to ensure quality is “Right First Time”.

Main Accountabilities
Engage with relevant stakeholders as the key contact to implement enhancements and expansions of the base systems. Doing this through elaborating the primary business objectives, clarifying the scope and impacts of the proposed change and identifying the initial risks, issues, assumptions and dependencies that affect the successful outcome of the project
Within medium to large scale projects (£750k to circa £3m), co-ordinates the projects workstreams on a day-to-day basis on behalf of senior management, to ensure maximum efficiency in the allocation of common resources and skills.
Manages 3rd party Supplier resources and engagements on the Project
Develop a robust mandate for the project.
Implements systems, processes, and measures to ensure that exceptions, slippage and issues of priority are effectively managed, and that extra activities are initiated wherever gaps in the programme are identified.
Monitors overall progress and initiates corrective action, as appropriate, to ensure that deliverable is produced on time, within budget and to acceptable quality.
Manages both the dependencies and the interfaces between there projects and other deliveries.
Manages the communications with all stakeholders • Reporting progress of the project at regular intervals to the Sponsor, Steering Group or Senior Management.
Manages the project budget, costs and accruals process using assigned tools (SAP) and processes.

Knowledge & Experience
10+ years practical experience of project managing technical and functional change at workstream level from inception to implementation on complex projects.
Knowledge of successful business and technical architecture change in complex and evolving environment
Strong workshop facilitation and meeting chairing skills, including negotiation, influence, mediation etc.
Effective leadership competencies with excellent written and oral communication
Great interpersonal skills with the ability to influence and engage people at all levels
Confident decision-making ability with good protocols for gaining stakeholder agreement where necessary
Management of multiple business change workstreams operating within a multi-million-pound change portfolio, in an IT environment
Experience in project management in an IT technical or functional area
