Department Overview:

The Financial Markets (FM) landscape is rapidly going through a process of digitisation, at the core of which is eTrading. eTrading at ING covers all products traded in ING FM. These span from the very liquid and electronic products (cash equities, futures, commodities and FX), Fixed Income products (corporate and government bonds) which are in the process of becoming electronic due to balance sheet reduction and regulation, to the less liquid and less electronic derivative products. Data is core to eTrading and eTrading also covers the data and business intelligence strategy.

Fixed income eTrading sits inside financial markets trading and comprises of a team of developers and quants.

Experience/Knowledge

Essential:

Minimum of 3 years’ experience developing algorithms
Having personally developed algorithms running in production
Strong research and analysis skills (Python)
Flexibility in development technologies. Expected to work with different technologies and languages (KDB, Proprietary Software, Java)
Experience with q/KDB+

Desirable:

Experience with Broadway technology;

Department Overview
The Financial Markets (FM) & Group Treasury (GT) Investing department is responsible for the design, modification and maintenance of the Financial Markets systems used in the Wholesale Banking domain for securities financing, cash equity trading, equity derivatives trading and commodities trading. The business is active in the UK and across Europe, Americas and Asia. The department is situated in London and is part of the Financials Markets & Group Treasury Tribe (in Amsterdam).

Role Overview
As part of the GSF digitalisation strategy, we are building on our existing relationship with SaaS solution supplier (Pirum Systems) to implement a new service supporting front-to-back cross-asset margin, collateral and inventory management and optimization. We are seeking an engineer to join the Global Securities Finance (“GSF”) IT team within ING Financial Markets.

Main Duties And Responsibilities Of Role
You will collaborate closely with the project manager and colleagues to implement the new solution. You will be a key contributor to the project where you will be expected to:
Establish technical ownership of the existing Pirum post-trade and collateral management services
Collaborate with the vendor and ING architects to define and implement a secure and robust technical architecture for the new service
Collaborate with the vendor and other IT colleagues to define and implement messaging for the delivery of inventory data
Define and implement the operational control model
Be the default point of contact for all IT Ops project deliverables
Be the technical point of contact for all IT Risk project deliverables, working in conjunction with specialist IT risk team in Romania

Once the project is delivered you will own the technical relationship with the vendor, being their recognised point of contact for all technical matters and participating actively in ongoing “business as usual” activities such as product enhancements and service review meetings.

You are an experienced IT Ops engineer with good knowledge of IT systems used in the financial markets domain, their related infrastructure, and the IT risk controls that surround them, and are recognized as subject matter expert by both IT and business stakeholders. Responsible for functional and technical support of IT systems, ranging from a legacy software system hosted in traditional data centres to solutions running in the cloud. Very good at performing IT service management, at ensuring IT reliability and at automating operational controls around our applications as much as possible. You are a primary contact for IT risk related activities.

Your Day-To-Day
Work with Asset Owner, IT Custodian and their advisors to ensure projects are completed in timely manner when new risk initiatives are introduced.
Contribute to change management responsibilities for projects, upgrades and small enhancements for the applications.
Assist with functional specifications for change requests towards vendors and testing release stories.
Take ownership of issues and improvements, seeing them through to completion, providing comprehensive handover as required.
Work in an Agile/Scrum way as part of a squad, following the backlog prioritized by a Product Owner. You demo the results of your work to other colleagues and the stakeholders.
Deal with incidents and requests raised by end users, performing incident and problem management according to ING’s policies.

Department Overview

The Sectors Portfolio Management (PM) team aims to be the ‘center of excellence’ for the in-life management of ING’s lending exposures to multiple sectors. It is a front office team that covers all activities post the initial funding to the final repayment of a lending transaction.
Monitors the performance of all sector-driven lending transactions in the UK and respond to requests from the client including facility extensions, amendments and waivers (plus other ad hoc requests).
The position involves contact with clients, other banks, legal advisors and frequent cooperation with internal departments such as Credit Risk Management, Legal and Deal Execution.
The Sectors PM team is looking to hire a portfolio management associate specializing in Shipping Finance but you will also be exposed to and expected to work with other sectors in which ING London specialises.

Main Duties And Responsibilities Of Role

You will manage a portfolio of Shipping Finance loans working closely with senior colleagues and other stakeholders.
In line with the Bank’s policies and objectives, you will provide file analysis and monitoring (including periodic covenant management, identification and resolution of early warning signals and risk rating reviews) and will be responsible for delivering high quality reviews of the Borrowers in your portfolio. This will include, but is not limited to, market updates on the client and sector it operates, compliance checks, performance updates received from the client, ESG analysis and review of financial information/models.
For credit modifications (amendments/waivers) or refinancing's within your portfolio, you will work alongside senior colleagues to deliver these in line with internal credit risk timeframes and client deadlines. This may also involve reviewing legal documentation for accuracy, internal compliance and commercial risk mitigation, alongside ING’s in-house legal teams.
You will also deliver reports required by colleagues in credit risk management, internal / external auditors as well as the Bank’s regulators.
As a front office department, PM collaborates closely with origination colleagues and product specialists to ensure a seamless client experience.
You will maintain relationships and liaise with internal functions such as Credit Risk, Operations and where necessary Global Credit Restructuring.
You will be responsible for the acceptance of new transactions into your portfolio and management of offboarding or handover of files when appropriate
