The company develops ECU (Electronic Control Unit) remanufacturing solutions for Engine Management, Transmission, Anti-Lock Braking, Electric power steering, instrumentation and comfort control systems for the automotive aftermarket. Everything we develop is done in house by our large R&D team, from the reverse engineering of VM (Vehicle Manufacturer) control systems to the design and build of bespoke HIL (Hardware In the Loop) testing platforms.

We are based conveniently between Nottingham and Derby centres, nestled on the entrance to one of the regions finest country parks (Shipley Country Park), boasting 700 acres of beautiful landscape popular for relaxed café dining, walking, fishing, biking and horse-riding.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the continuous failure mode development of legacy products. The day to day will involve:
Follow wiring diagrams and pin data to power up ECUs on the bench and test specific circuits and functions.
Analysis of ECUs (electronic control units) and their PCBAs (Printed Circuit Board Assemblies) to discover the cause of electronic faults and to enact repairs where possible.
Creating technical documentation
Closing looping of information into SOP and training of technicians
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience in electronic fault finding to component level and PCB rework methods.
Experience in electronic schematic/wiring diagram drawings.
Root cause analysis of PCB’s
Desirable Skills & Experience
Well organised with a methodical approach to problem solving.
Team player with excellent attention to detail.
Knowledge and experience of automotive operations, electronics, and communication protocols.

As a key member of our Research & Development team, you'll play a vital role in designing and implementing cutting-edge test solutions for advanced automotive electronics.
What You’ll Do
HIL Test Systems: Develop closed-loop test systems using LabVIEW within existing hardware frameworks.
Custom Test Hardware: Design and build bespoke Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) solutions, including electronic circuits, PCB layouts, and material fabrications.
Test Automation: Implement automated test frameworks and tools to enhance consistency, efficiency, and repeatability in testing.
Post-Deployment Support: Maintain and troubleshoot HIL systems, diagnosing integration issues across hardware and software components.
What You’ll Bring
Essential Skills & Experience:
Proven expertise in developing closed-loop test solutions for embedded systems, ideally within automotive or electronics industries.
Advanced LabVIEW development experience.
Strong hardware and software design skills, with hands-on experience in system integration.
A methodical approach to problem-solving and troubleshooting in high-pressure environments.
