Job Summary:
Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Data Architect to lead the design and implementation of a Point of Sale (POS) integration project. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in data architecture, database management, and system integration. This role requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work collaboratively with cross functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:
Design and develop the data architecture for the POS integration project, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
Collaborate with software engineers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into effective data models.
Lead the integration of POS systems with existing databases and data warehouses, ensuring seamless data flow and consistency.
Develop and maintain data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data quality and security throughout the project life cycle.
Educate retail service desk teams re: procedures to ensure data quality and security, allowing them to troubleshoot effectively when required.
Optimize database performance and troubleshoot any issues related to data integration and processing.
Provide technical guidance to other team members where required.

Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Proven experience as a Data Architect, preferably within the Retail or Consumer Packaged Goods industry.
Strong knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) and data modeling techniques.
Experience with POS systems and their integration with backend databases.
Proficiency in data integration tools and technologies (e.g., ETL processes, APIs).
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Knowledge of data security and privacy regulations is a plus.
