Job Description

For a client in Brussels, responsible for digital identity and security solutions for the financial sector, we are looking for a Senior Database Engineer. The role involves designing, optimizing, and monitoring database services.

You will be responsible for:
Designing and maintaining AWS database services, including NoSQL and RDS databases.
Implementing solutions within the AWS environment (Aurora, Oracle RDS, DynamoDB, and DocumentDB).
Implementing database security measures.
Ensuring availability, performance, and cost-effectiveness.
Maintaining development and production environments.
Designing and implementing backup, recovery, and DR strategies.
Managing servers in geographically diverse environments.
Collaborating with developers to optimize application performance.

You have:
A bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent experience.
Over 6 years of experience in database administration.
Strong hands-on experience managing MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle databases on AWS.
Practical experience with AWS blue-green deployment and data migration services.
Experience in creating automation tools for managing databases.
Experience with Linux/Unix systems.
Experience mentoring junior DBA colleagues.

This position is open to candidates who have their residence in Brussels as you're required at the office once or twice per week.

Full-stack developer

Job Description

We are seeking a talented and motivated full stack software developer to join our data science and software development team. The primary responsibility of this role is to design, develop and implement in-house software solutions. You collaborate with various stakeholders to fine tune user requirements and functional specifications. You design software solutions using a microservice based software architecture. You write server and client side applications using event or request driver architectures. You write automated unit, integration and end to end tests. You mentor junior software developers and provide constructive feedback during code review sessions.

Key Responsibilities

consult stakeholders, collect and document user requirements and functional specifications
translate requirements into a software architecture (you will be assisted by a senior software developer or architect)
develop scalable, performant and reliable software solutions
write clean, maintainable and efficient code
mentor junior software developers, provide technical guidance and support
conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards
identify and resolve technical issues and challenges
stay up to date with latest industry trends and technologies to ensure our in-house solutions remain cutting edge
