About The Role
Orchestrade is looking for a new member to join our Energy product development team.
The team continually extends our leading trading, risk, and operations solutions to cover new business cases and traded products & instruments in energy trading across the oil, gas, power, renewables, certificates, and metals markets.
The role involves a presence of four days in the office per week, located in Paris (75017).
Responsibilities:
Under the guidance of head of development or senior software engineers, utilize the SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle) framework and OOP (Object-Orient Programming) model to help plan, design and develop code based on the enhancement requirements provided.
Work with clients to capture, review and analyze requirements.
Design, plan and develop scalable and fast solutions.
Maintain and evolve the current system.
Share the system’s knowledge internally and with clients using presentations and providing documentation.
Collaborate with other internal teams. Communicate with business analysts for clarity of enhancement or bug fix requirements and assist business analysts to debug code to help identify the cause for a break reported by a client. Work with QA engineers to resolve/justify any non-regression issues.
Complete projects before deadlines and timely communicate status and completion to immediate supervisor.
Update online user guides in a timely manner.
Continuing growth in knowledge of domain relating to the asset class(es) or functionality of the software. Increase familiarity with new technology and financial trends. Learn new skills and technologies to develop better solutions within the Orchestrade platform.
Ensure the highest software quality is provided for our clients
Qualifications:
MS degree in Computer Science or other related fields
Results-oriented, analytical approach with strong entrepreneurial problem-solving skills
Experience in an object-oriented programming code such as C#, Java or C++. C# is a plus. Sensitivity to performance (memory management and multithreading) is key
Knowledge of SQL and database preferred
Basic knowledge of Mathematics, financial markets, and financial calculations
Ability to prioritize tasks and complete assigned tasks on time
Energetic, collaborative, and seeking to make a positive impact on the company
Entrepreneurial approach and ability to work alone or in teams with minimal supervision
Excellent time management and organization skills with a keen eye for detail
Excellent interpersonal skills to allow successful collaboration with internal and external teams
Fluency in English and French
2-5 years’ experience working as a software developer, preferably within trading systems, is a must-have
