Frontend Developer, UK

Role Summary:
The role of Frontend Developer will be part of Battenhall’s Innovation team, which is focussed on new product development and continuous improvement of both external and internal products and services. We identify opportunities to solve problems and deliver greater value to both our internal teams and our customers. This means that sometimes we work on small, discrete projects that go from conception to deployment within a month, and at other times we work on large scale SaaS products that have a lifespan of years.

The role of Frontend Developer will have a primary focus of accelerating the development of our flagship product, which hinges on getting data out of social platforms efficiently, storing it, wrangling it, and making it available in a clean and concise UI for our customers, playing a crucial role in shaping our product and contributing to exciting new initiatives. The position also offers a blend of focused product development and the opportunity to work on innovative MVPs and standalone web apps. As such, experience as a design engineer with experience in JavaScript and an interest in product development would also be considered.

Responsibilities:
Contribute to the development, maintenance, and scaling of our flagship TypeScript web app
Work closely with the Insights team to implement data-driven features
Collaborate with the Design team to bring user interfaces to life
Participate in code reviews and maintain high code quality standards
Optimise application performance and improve user experience
Collaborate with the wider agency team on small ideas and MVPs for standalone products

Skills & Qualifications:
3-5 years of experience as a front end developer, preferably in product teams
Strong proficiency in React
Proficient in using GitHub for version control and project management
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with non-technical team members
Experience with developing MVPs and rapid prototyping
Knowledge of UX/UI principles
Experience with NextJS and TypeScript
Experience with Tailwind CSS for styling
Familiarity with Postgres databases and Supabase
Experience with cloud platforms, particularly Digital Ocean
Familiarity with Agile development methodologies
Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical team members.
Enthusiasm for a startup-like environment, with a willingness to adapt and innovate.
Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
