About the Company

We are on a mission to change the face of recruitment.

We’re tired of hearing all the negative things people say about recruitment, it doesn’t have to be this way.

Recruitment is not rocket science so we want to make things as simple as possible,

Our core value is in placing great candidates but the difference between us and everyone else is the way that we do that.

Software Developer

Telford/WFH (2 days a week from home)

Tech: Microsoft C# .Net 8, Azure, SQL - any C++/Linux would come in handy but is not necessary

Are you keen to move through the ranks and progress to a Senior Software Developer position, picking up more responsibility and mentoring junior developers?

Do you feel siloed in your role? Or wedded to a particular application? Always finding yourself assigned the same tasks or just making incremental improvements?

You studied the full software lifecycle at Uni so why are you maintaining someone else’s poorly documented spaghetti?

Over 85 years in business, innovating and designing digital automation solutions working with established companies such as John Lewis and H&M.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be working on a variety of applications for some innovative automation solutions across desktop and web, moving onto new projects roughly every 18 months or so, working closely with the development team on sprints, feeding back to the lead developer on project tasks.

In this role you'll be joining an established software development team of 5 with robust development practices including a 3 part staging environment developing applications using C# .Net 8

You’ll be working on some exciting new projects, modernising or rewriting some existing solutions and then owning the product and introducing new features and maintaining or refactoring your code as appropriate.

They have a strong culture of personal and professional development with excellent retention both across the business and in the development team (if that’s any indication of what it’s like to work there) including things like paying for certifications and training across areas of interest, for example they handle much of their production environment so things like devops and platform tooling are encouraged but would not be necessary experience.

About you

You’ll be a degree qualified candidate in Computer Science or similar with some commercial programming experience and a good understanding of writing clean code in C# .net ideally with some understanding of automation or production environments or writing software communicating with hardware – think network protocols, machine code or connected devices (which might run more performant code in say C++/Linux)

You’ll be someone who is keen to move through the ranks and progress to a Senior Software Developer position, picking up more responsibility and mentoring junior developers

How to apply:

Apply here or search for Sam Birtwistle on LinkedIn where you will find my contact details at the top of my profile page

Don’t worry if your CV isn’t up to date, we’ll deal with that later if needed

Ps. I rarely come across software roles that have such a focus on training and development so please do get in touch to find out more!
