The European Commission is seeking a Senior Cloud Architect to lead the design, implementation, and optimization of cloud-based solutions across its operations. This high-impact role will focus on developing secure, scalable, and efficient cloud infrastructures that align with the Commission’s strategic objectives and compliance standards.


Key Responsibilities:
Design and implement cloud architectures tailored to the European Commission's needs, focusing on scalability, security, and performance.
Develop and enforce cloud governance frameworks, ensuring compliance with EU regulations and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize workloads, enhance cloud efficiency, and implement best practices.
Drive innovation by identifying and integrating emerging cloud technologies.
Provide technical guidance and mentorship to teams involved in cloud migration and management.
Monitor cloud environments to ensure performance, reliability, and security.


Key Requirements:
At least 7 years of experience in cloud architecture and solution design.
Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and hybrid cloud environments.
Strong understanding of cloud security, data governance, and EU compliance requirements (e.g., GDPR).
Proficiency in infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale cloud migration or transformation projects.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in English; knowledge of other EU languages is an asset.
