Job title: Junior Systems Engineer
Location: Wokingham
Salary: £34,000-£36,000
Contract: 12 month Fixed term contract, working full time on site
Our client a leading energy provider in the Wokingham area has a requirement for a Junior Systems Engineer to join their team in an exciting and vital transformation period. Creating cleaner, greener systems that serves generations to come. You will be aspiring to be a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) engineer. This system is a critical national infrastructure for the real-time operation of the electricity transmission system, ensuring safety and system security standards are always maintained.
In this role you will be responsible for maintaining data, displays and network models, including data analysis, testing, drawing displays and implementation of changes. These analysis tools are used in the Electricity National Control Centre and are critical to the safe, secure and economic operation of the electricity transmission system. You will also be responsible for assisting the Systems, Support and Insight Team on projects, supporting lead engineers as required.
The successful candidate will be undertaking extensive training as part of this role.
SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Educated to degree level is essential, ideally in a STEM related subject, (equivalent qualifications will also be considered).
Understanding of power system operation would be beneficial, but not essential.
Knowledge of AutoCAD would be beneficial, but not essential.
Good understanding of system and data.
Good understanding of database structures.
A detail-oriented mindset.
A passion for problem solving and critical thinking.
Enhanced security checks will be required for this role.

Our Financial Services client is seeking a Senior UX Engineer. This brand-new role is a hybrid mixture between a Developer and UX Designer.
Working in a multi-disciplinary design, product, and engineering team, you’ll be at the forefront of developing out the code libraries for the design system.
Previous experience within Financial Services is ideal although not essential. as your background in design systems and code writing is what is key!
Some of your main responsibilities will be planning and codifying components, templates or design patterns for our design and engineering communities.
Required Essential Skills and Experience:
6-8 years of proven experience as a UX engineer or similar role (e.g. front-end software engineer), with proficiency in React, CSS and Figma libraries.
Recent experience of coding in various such as HTML, CSS, Javascript.
Experience of both working with Ux designers and implementation of Ux principles & practices in your work.
Bi-lingual in pixels and pointers
Prior experience of working on design systems – developing tokens and theming to enable designs to be translated to variables, ensuring a seamless transition from design language to code.
Excellent attention to detail
Locations: London
Hybrid: 2 days in the office / 3 days working from home
Pay Rate: £600/day Inside IR35 (You will work via an Umbrella company)
