Data Engineering Consultant (Mid - Lead levels available)
London (hybrid - 2-3 days per week onsite)
Permanent (37.5 hours per week)
£45,000 - £75,000 + car allowance
Our client is looking for Data Engineers with experience working within a Consulting environment as they provide Data Engineering services to clients within the Critical National Infrastructure space.
They are looking for someone who is very confident with the full Azure stack.
For the lead role you will need experience leading client engagements and leading/mentoring teams. You will have designed/architected Azure data solutions within a Consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead/work on client engagements within the Critical National Infrastructure environment.
Architect data landscapes that to reflect data strategies.
Understand and translate end-user requirements into designs and delivery plans for effective data solutions.
Design, develop, execute, frameworks for managing the build of pipelines using cloud technologies.
Manage teams in supporting technical implementations and resolve data quality issues.
Manage the development of best practice within the Data Engineering practice.
Take a lead role in mentoring and developing others in the team and inspire them through commitment and enthusiasm.
Work with Azure team leads to ensure best practice implementations.
Build an inclusive team culture focusing on service excellence and exceptional performance.
Manage the development and maintenance of documentation and processes.
For the Lead role: Manage Data Engineering teams to deliver data solutions for clients.
Key Skills:
Previous experience within a Consultancy environment as a Data Engineer.
Leadership/mentoring experience.
Requirements capture and ability to translate those requirements into viable solutions.
Architecture/Design experience.
Proven experience in at least some of the following: Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake, Azure Synapse (and data warehousing approaches) or SSIS, Azure Analysis Services or DataOps.
Programming experience of SQL, Python, Spark, DAX or C#.
DevOps practices (CI/CD, GIT, Terraform etc.)
Comprehensive and demonstratable experience in DevOps practices.
Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills.

Please note that the client has determined that the off-payroll working rules will apply to this assignment and therefore this contract will be run through an Umbrella Company. Income tax and primary national insurance contributions will be deducted at source from any payments made to the intermediary.
