About Role / Objective
The Business Development Associate will work closely with the marketing and sales teams to drive business growth, improve campaign effectiveness, and optimize customer engagement through 1st level prospecting and pipeline creation for BALYO.
This unique role will give the right candidate exposure to entry level Sales and Market Analysis activities. This position can develop into a Sales Management position depending on one's development into the role, his/her ability to meet the requirements of the BALYO Sales Management Job Description and the repeated achievement of the objectives in this role. The Objectives of this role are:
Contribute effectively to the acceleration and growth of BALYO projects opportunity pipeline in the EMEA (Focus on the DACH region)
Provide front-line organic prospecting to support Sales Managers in developing new client opportunities, in the targeted sectors and clients identified by the company
Qualify inbound leads with first contact meetings
Analyze marketing data, evaluating trends, and delivering insights that inform our strategies
Monitor Web site activity and outreach from web traffic
Provide regular maintenance and updating of detailed KPI’s and reports as defined by the Marketing team
Provide subject matter expertise in the use and creative benefit of the BALYO CRM, provide CRM support and training to the Sales team
Major duties & responsibilities
The requirement of this role is to operate in a daily methodical, regimented manner to generate and process a high volume of lead generation and qualification, with advanced fluency in BALYO’s CRM.
Perform front-line prospecting activity, targeting new client profiles that match the BALYO organic growth plan
Score leads according to our currently valid scoring system, with the intention to improve lead quality over time
Contact and qualify inbound leads to set the company up for success, route to appropriate Sales Managers.
Enable Sales Managers with all the necessary information about the prospect and their project
Work closely with the Chief Sales Officer and/or Regional Sales Directors on selected direct sales opportunities (for example at Global Accounts or extra-large opportunities) to learn and execute complex, competitive sales engagements
Develop fluency, advanced usage and demonstrative competency in all BALYO proprietary tools
Collaborate with Sales Managers to re/define selling material needs and deliverables
Operate with advanced fluency within the BALYO CRM (HubSpot) to perform these business development duties
Work closely with marketing, sales, and product teams to ensure alignment on data insights and strategy
Use fluently and autonomously all BALYO tools (e-budget, map editor, ROI)
Attend and support BALYO Marketing events, such as Trade Shows, as directed by the Marketing Director
Profile
Strong relationship building skills with customer focus and problem-solving mindset, and ability to nurture and grow relationships to build trust
Extraordinarily energetic, outgoing and engaging professional with a very high level of confidence
Capable to cold call and conduct introductory meetings with a high success rate
Demonstrated experience in advanced CRM methodology and fluency, including the ability to develop reports and dashboards for tracking relevant KPI’s and activity with an inherent love of data analysis and problem solving
Interest for intralogistics, automation, robotics and the materials handling industry, zealot for new technology particularly as it pertains to the robotics industry
Creativity to convey BALYO voice in digital mediums
Demonstrated ability to drive oneself, work autonomously and under pressure
Proven ability to capture customer needs, and translate them to product features, benefits and applications or understand any gaps
Travel within the Region up to 20%
Electro-mechanical aptitude, present technical solutions with technical acumen and tie them to business solutions
Education & Experience
Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Science, Engineering, Marketing, Economics or Business is required.
Requirements include
Training and basic functionality in data analysis tools and software such as Google Analytics, Excel, SQL or Tableau
Demonstrated fluency with CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce or HubSpot) and digital marketing platforms is a plus
Language Skills
Fluency in both spoken and written English & French is required.
Additional spoken and/or functional capabilities in German is highly desirable.
Other Competencies
Fluency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Google Suite required, advanced capabilities in Excel being a strong plus
Basic proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud
Current valid driver’s license, passport and no international or domestic travel restrictions
