FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Senior Azure Edge Cloud Engineer to work for our client within the retail sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role in London.
You will play a key role in ensuring our client’s environments are scalable, reliable, secure, and cost-efficient, while driving continuous improvement across our cloud capabilities and helping to deliver best-in-class cloud services to our client.
Our client is looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior Azure Edge Cloud Engineer to support the design, deployment, and administration of Azure Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) for their Edge solutions. You will be responsible for implementing and managing scalable, secure, and high-performance hybrid cloud infrastructure, ensuring seamless integration between on-premises systems and their Azure Cloud Platform.
Responsibilities
Use cutting-edge tools and technologies to continuously deliver robust Cloud Infrastructure at the Edge, using Infrastructure as Code practices
Engage in supporting the design, collaborating with product owners, Engineering community and architects to ensure that solutions help customers and achieve our business goals and objectives
Discover and recommend ways to improve reliability and efficiency, with a keen eye on governance and security
Develop internal tools to improve platform speed, security, and cost-efficiency, enabling teams to work smarter
Deploy and configure production systems, with a particular focus on automation, ease of configuration, reduction of human error, repeatability, and security
Monitor new features/functionality and assess their Ops implications to continuously improve services
Ensure identity and access management controls are in place and strictly adhered to
Monitor infrastructure by setting appropriate thresholds and react to event driven alerts appropriately
Produce and maintain documentation of support processes & resolutions to known operational issues
Requirements
Demonstrable experience in Microsoft Azure, preferably with proven experience in Azure HCI
Proven experience in Cloud Operations and DevOps environments, with a strong focus on best practices and continuous improvement, especially using Azure Local (HCI)
Skilled in automated testing, pipeline maintenance, and using tools like GitHub and GitHub Actions for version control
Familiar with Agile methodologies, ITIL, SRE, and service operations practices
Competent in system monitoring, security, auditing, and tracking work through tools like Jira
Up-to-date knowledge of cloud technologies and a general understanding of related technology stacks
Effective in managing workloads, mentoring team members, and driving platform improvements while engaging with stakeholders
Knowledge of running containers and container orchestration at a large, distributed scale, utilising Kubernetes
Experience of managing the lifecycle and maintenance of multiple Kubernetes clusters prioritising service stability and uptime
Knowledge of Kubernetes networking paradigms including CNI, Calico and MetalLB

FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an IT Observability Architect to work for our client within the aviation sector. This is initially a 12-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in London Heathrow.
Our client is seeking someone who can own the technical execution of the Observability solutions, the integration of monitoring tools and leveraging the AI capabilities in platform to manage events of their products and technical platforms. You will have extensive experience in enterprise technology with a strong focus on management, effectiveness, and architecture.
Responsibilities
Design and oversee the implementation of a comprehensive enterprise tooling architecture and strategy that supports ITSM, monitoring, observability, automation, and delivery management
Provide observability solutions to product and platform teams
Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of tools across the Enterprise to reduce manual effort and maximise quality and productivity
Optimise existing tooling infrastructure to improve efficiency, reliability, and performance
Identify opportunities to increase the proactive prediction, detection, and restoration
·of events and incidents
Leverage the AIOps, service now to increase the automation of resolution
Ensure that ITSM tools integrate seamlessly with other enterprise tools and systems
Support and improve existing tooling implementation programmes
Identify opportunities to automate processes and reduce manual efforts
Develop and maintain a roadmap for ITSM tool enhancements and upgrades
Establish governance frameworks to ensure consistent and compliant usage of all enterprise tools
Requirements
Significant experience in tooling architecture and enterprise systems
Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and managing a variety of enterprise tools such as ServiceNow, Splunk, Cloudwatch, TeleGraf, Azure Monitor, Dynatrace, Datadog, ThousandEyes and DXNetOps
Strong understanding of ITSM best practices and principles; ITIL certification is preferred
Ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams and the skill to influence stakeholder decision-making with data-driven insights
Experience of integrating with other industry tooling such as Apptio, Workday, Jira and DevOps tooling
Experience with industry standard SDLCs including but not limited to Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid, product operating model, etc
Demonstrated ability to integrate and optimize observability tooling across complex IT environments in cloud hosting specifically AWS & Azure and On-Prem
Experience in defining Tooling/Technology Specific qualifications
Knowledge of NOW platform and preferably AIOps including plugins ie Event Management, Metrics intelligence
Strong understanding of event correlation and noise reduction techniques which will complement the AIOps capabilities being delivered
Proficient in embedding observability practices into BAU operations through service design processes

As a Cloud Security Engineer, you will champion our client’s cloud security initiatives, setting the tone and direction for the entire organisation. This pivotal role requires an individual who can balance the strategic with the tactical, helping guide the client’s security vision while ensuring the daily operations align with security standards. You will work closely with various departments, from IT to development teams, to integrate security measures into our cloud infrastructure and operations. This role is not just about maintaining the status quo. You will also be instrumental in working with the Chief Security Architect and their Security Solutions Architects to identify opportunities for innovation, staying abreast of industry trends, and ensuring their security measures are second to none.
You will play a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance of solutions, reinforcing the client’s commitment to safeguarding clients' data and interests.
Responsibilities
Define and drive the cloud security vision and strategy across the organisation
Support the design and deployment of robust cloud security solutions, primarily in Azure
Support the Security Operation Centre in their monitoring, detection, and response activities related to cloud security incidents, breaches, and vulnerabilities, helping ensure swift resolution and minimal impact
Foster strong relationships with CTS, development, and other internal teams, integrating security practices into their workflows and DevOps pipelines
Work with the InfoSec team to regularly assess cloud infrastructures to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations
Stay updated on emerging threats, trends, and tools in cloud security, ensuring the client is always at the cutting edge and equipped to address new challenges
Mentor, guide, and develop the wider security engineering team, ensuring they have the skills and knowledge to excel in their roles
Cross platform Cloud security is maintained in line with company requirements and industry best practice
Escalating areas where risk is being managed outside of the company risk appetite
Requirements
5 years of experience in cloud security, with a strong focus on Azure
Azure Security Engineer Associate certification or similar
Proficient knowledge of cloud architecture and its security concerns
Exposure to AWS environments and services
Experience in developing, implementing, and monitoring security solutions
Strong understanding of security protocols, encryption, and authentication methods
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

As a Cyber Security Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating your efforts to protect digital assets, information systems and networks from cyber threats. This will involve a mix of strategic planning, leadership and technical expertise to ensure that security measures are properly implemented and followed.
You must be proactive, result oriented, structured, and able to operate under pressure in a changing environment.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement a robust, company-wide information security strategy
Proactively identifying and mitigating risks
Optimising existing tools and integrating advanced technologies, you will ensure the highest level of data protection against loss, manipulation, breaches, leaks, and malicious encryption
