SQL Database Administrator
Job Description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking an SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6 month contract with the potential to extend and will be a hybrid role that will be based in Solihull.

Our client are seeking a skilled and experienced SQL DBA to join their dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining their SQL Server databases, ensuring their performance, availability, and security. The SQL DBA will work closely with the development and operations teams to support their clients' database needs and provide expert guidance on best practice. Database administration involves managing operational databases in production environments as well as supporting databases for development, testing and iterative improvements. The focus is on ensuring database availability, integrity, security and performance across a variety of database types, including relational, NoSQL and cloud-based databases.

Responsibilities
Manage and maintain SQL Server databases, including installation, configuration, and upgrades
Identifying and acting on automation opportunities to improve performance and value from databases, data stores and data pipelines
Using database management system software and tools including both cloud-based and on-premises solutions
Applying knowledge of the logical database schema
Ensuring compliance with data privacy laws and regulations
Designing and implementing disaster recovery, backup strategies, and security monitoring protocols
Integrating and managing databases across hybrid environments, combining on-premises and cloud-based solutions
Monitoring emerging database technologies and trends, including security features and vulnerabilities
Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues and incidents

Requirements
At least 5 years’ experience as an SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA)
Strong knowledge of SQL Server database management and administration
Experience with database performance tuning and optimization
Familiarity with database security best practices
Up-to-date with the latest SQL Server technologies and best practices
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
Strong communication and collaboration skills

Job Description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a Release Manager to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role.

The Release Manager will be responsible for overseeing the entire release management process, which includes planning, coordinating, and managing releases across the organisation for various applications. This role involves coordinating different teams, tracking progress, managing risks, and resolving conflicts to ensure successful product releases. The goal is to ensure that software and applications are delivered on time and with high quality.

Responsibilities
Implement release management processes across all digital programs
Maintain and establish standards for release management in digital services
Design, document, automate, and maintain configuration management processes (including build, release, version control, branching, and merging)
Enhance delivery capabilities and improve release management processes to create a reliable, standardised, high-quality release management function
Collaborate with developers, test automation and application configuration specialists, release management, business leads, and cloud engineers
Work with teams to resolve any bottlenecks or conflicts that could delay releases
Ensure all deliverables meet defined quality standards, documentation is complete, and teams are prepared for the release
Manage project-specific software configuration and commonality between program configurations to limit software variants
Prepare technical documentation and diagrams to define the configuration and topology of deployed applications
Analyse and manage dependencies across teams, systems, and third-party integrations to ensure smooth releases
Act as a liaison between development, testing, operations, and business teams to ensure alignment on release objectives
Engage with stakeholders to prioritise releases and provide regular updates on release progress, risks, and readiness

Requirements
Knowledge and experience with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools (e.g., Azure DevOps)
Experience in configuration analysis of complex enterprise systems
Understanding of tools and practices for determining and managing resources
Strong understanding of SDLC design and architecture, source control
Good understanding of CI/CD principles and knowledge of setup
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of key business processes and organisational priorities
Experience with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines
Experience documenting configuration of CRM solutions (e.g., Microsoft Dynamics)
Familiarity with QlikView and PowerBI

Job Description
FDM is a global business and technology consultancy seeking a SAS Data Engineer to work for our client within the public sector. This is initially a 6-month contract with the potential to extend and will be a fully remote role.

As a skilled SAS Data Engineer to help in the migration of SAS scripts to cloud environment, primarily focusing on development in Snowflake, Python and SparkSQL. You will have a solid foundation in data quality, coupled with a strong interest in identifying and resolving discrepancies to ensure effective data processes.

Responsibilities
Develop and optimise ETL scripts using Snowflake, primarily utilising SQL
Ensure the quality and integrity of the data produced by conducting rigorous automated data checks
Investigate and resolve any data discrepancies that arise during the ETL process
