The GeospatialAI team, in charge of building AI models on top of satellite imagery inside xFarm products, is looking for a Geo AI Data Scientist. You will be responsible for developing impactful solutions for agriculture. In this role, you will contribute to solutions like crop type detection, yield prediction, beyond cloud (generating optical data from radar signals) automated boundary detection and much more. You will work with a team of remote sensing engineers, software engineers and agronomists in the team.

Key Responsibilities
Work on computer vision tasks such as classification, segmentation, image translation on multitemporal and single step large scale imagery
Research, design and implement novel solutions with ML/DL and remote sensing imagery to build agricultural products.
Deploy remote sensing ML solutions
Convert remote sensing challenges into a ML product
Work with the software development team to support integration of geospatial data processing in production environments.
Keep track of what’s new in AI
Position is a blend of engineering and research

Minimum Qualifications
Have a Masters degree with focus on remote sensing, data science, AI or similar fields, or alternatively a Bachelors with 2-3 years experience in the similar fields with comparable data science skills.
Have an understanding of of ML systems design
Having worked with geospatial or remote sensing data in GIS or python environments
Autonomous, curious and enjoys learning new skills
Good at collaboration and communication with team members
Fluent in English (main language spoken)
Team spirited and not afraid to give your point of view
Are a very ambitious engineer who loves learning and growing fast in a rapidly evolving startup environment
Are passionate about building technological solutions for the environment.
Interested or experienced in agriculture (bonus)
Love for Space Technologies (bonus)
Already experienced in working in a start-up (bonus)
Some tools that we expect you to know are: VM, git, common ML tools (Tensorflow or PyTorch), xarrays, geopandas…
