As a Software Development Manager, you will play a key role in leading a team of developers, shaping technical direction, and driving best practices. You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to align development efforts with business goals while fostering an environment of continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of software engineers, providing technical guidance and support.
Oversee software architecture, technical decision-making, and best practices.
Manage project timelines, resource allocation, and remove development blockers.
Conduct code reviews to maintain high standards of code quality and performance.
Collaborate with product, QA, and design teams to ensure smooth project execution.
Drive improvements in development processes, tooling, and system scalability.
Support AWS deployments and cloud infrastructure management.

About You
Strong background in software development, ideally with PHP and frameworks like Laravel, Symfony, or Yii.
Proven leadership experience in a technical role, preferably within a SaaS environment.
Experience with AWS, Docker, Git, and MySQL.
Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Skills
Experience with Node.js or other backend technologies.
Familiarity with frontend frameworks like Vue.js or Angular.
Exposure to Firebase or real-time services.

DevOps Engineer – Hybrid, Bolton, UK – AWS, Kubernetes, Linux, Terraform, CI/CD – Up to £65,000 plus a healthy benefits package

We are looking for a Mid-Senior DevOps Engineer with strong AWS, Kubernetes, Linux and Terraform knowledge to join our growing customer's team in Bolton. If you have a passion for emerging technologies and a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure and automation, we’d love to hear from you.

You will be joining a small, but growing, and highly collaborative team, reporting directly to the DevOps Manager who is building out this function within a global business. This is a great opportunity to advance your career and learn from one of the industry's best!

Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC), with a primary focus on Terraform.
Work with containerisation and microservice architectures, including hands-on experience with Kubernetes and a thorough understanding of containerised systems.
Build and deploy scalable cloud solutions across major platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Develop tooling and applications in languages such as Python, Go, or Java.
Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, and GitOps platforms (e.g., ArgoCD).
Automate tasks and improve workflows with Linux Shell scripting.
Manage cloud services such as AWS EKS, EC2, S3, IAM, Networks, Athena, and CloudWatch.

Skills & Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
Strong experience with Terraform for Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
Solid understanding and hands-on experience with containerisation, Kubernetes, and microservice architecture.
Proven ability to work with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP at scale.
Proficiency in programming languages like Python, Go, or Java.
