As part of the Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, the Database Administrator will be responsible for the administration and operation of databases (mainly PostgreSQL, but also Mariadb, Cassandra, Teradata).
You will be the point of contact for all database-related issues and improvements.
You will be working in a high-availability environment with high performance requirements.

Your key activities
The database administrator (DBA) will be the guarantor of the performance and availability of all databases.
1. Database operation
You set up the supervision and monitoring of databases.
You control the execution of backups according to the backup policy that has been defined.
You are involved in the resolution of production incidents
You provide support for other technical teams (SRE, Architects) and DevOps teams (IT Product manager, developers)

2. Change Process
You will be involved in automating database deployments or updates, and will be responsible for maintaining inventories and repositories for all databases.
You will integrate new databases into the backup plan and maintenance tasks.
You will validate documentation and instruction sheets relating to the correct operation of the databases.
3. Continuous improvement
You will be the driving force behind proposals to improve database performance. You will carry out performance audits in collaboration with DevOps teams.
You will participate in root cause analysis for incident and problem management.
You will monitor and manage the implementation of database engine updates (version upgrades and patch management).
You will ensure that the database access security policy is properly applied.
You will be a major player in the implementation of active-active database solutions (multi-datacenters).

Required Skills and Qualifications
Education: Bachelor / Master’s degree in computer science.
Experience: 10+ years of experience in data administration or a similar role in a Production environment.
Excellent communication skills. Fluent English (C1 minimum), in daily professional multi-cultural business environment (Read, Write, Communicate)

Location: Budapest (Hungary), Issy-les-Moulineaux (France) or Warsovie (Poland), with 2 days of home office per week.
Occasional travel mainly within Europe (2 days per month max)
