Assistant Accountant - £35,000 - £40,000 – Reading, Berkshire (Hybrid Working)
Trace Recruit is delighted to be supporting the CFO of a specialist service provider, who is on the hunt for an Assistant Accountant.
Our client offers residential care and support services for adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, autism, and complex needs.
This exciting opportunity will work closely with the finance team and will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring timely payments, and supporting the month-end close process.
About Your New Role:
Process invoices, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
Manage the end-to-end AP process, including invoice approvals and payment runs.
Reconcile supplier statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Maintain strong relationships with vendors and internal stakeholders.
Assist in preparing and posting journal entries, including accruals and prepayments.
Reconcile key balance sheet accounts.
Support the finance team with variance analysis and reporting.
Assist with VAT returns and other financial compliance tasks.
Ad-hoc projects/support where needed.
Your Skills & Qualifications:
Experience working in a similar role.
Experience in double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits and supporting with month end.
Comfortable working with large data sets.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Energetic and enthusiastic.
A friendly and proactive demeanour, good team player.
Advanced Excel user.
Ideally have used Sage and Xero.

A highly reputable, listed Wealth and Investment Management firm are looking Finance Analyst on a 12-month FTC. The company has over £100 billion of assets under management/administration and a network of offices around the UK.
Reporting to a Senior Finance Manager, the main purpose of this role is to provide meaningful reporting and analysis of the change management program.
Your Role
Preparing the cost reporting and analysis for the change and project teams.
Working with stakeholders to provide analytical insight including planning & forecasting numbers.

6 - 9 Month FTC, Financial Controller, Software Development/Technology, Central London, Paying £65,000 - £75,000
We have a unique an exciting opportunity for an immediately available ambitious Financial Controller.
Our client is a high growth Tech group within cloud-based platforms and the CFO is looking to bring in someone who can help deliver the next phase of their journey. From group consolidations to due diligence for new acquisitions this is a fantastic opportunity.
Based in Central London, you will work closely with the founders, CFO and key investors.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee accounting and financial reporting for portfolio companies.
Create and maintain financial models to guide decision-making.
Manage cash flow and forecasting for portfolio companies.
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with relevant accounting and tax regulations.
Identify opportunities for financial optimization and growth.
Requirements:
A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, ACMA), preferably chartered.
Must be Immediately Available
A solid track record of accounting (IFRS) skills, ideally having trained in practice then moved to a commercial business.
Acquisitions and integrations experience is important.
Strong analytical and communication skills
Good relationship builder who has proven business partnering skills
Has a strong positive mindset and a good roll up the sleeves (start-up style) attitude.
Excellent command of Microsoft Excel (Xero knowledge would be a bonus)
Experience working in the tech industry is preferable.
