About the Role:
We are seeking a talented Backup and Recovery Engineer to join our dynamic team. This is a key position that will involve working on a variety of technologies to ensure the successful backup, recovery, and disaster recovery solutions for our organization. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with colleagues remotely and in the office. This role is ideal for someone who has a strong technical background and experience with NetBackup, Commvault, Veritas Cluster Servers, and backup solutions.
Job Title: Data Protection Engineer / Backup and Recovery Engineer
Location: Sheffield, UK - Hybrid (2 days per week in office)
Job Type: Full-Time Employee (FTE) / Contract - Inside IR35
Key Responsibilities:
Install, configure, and upgrade Master Media Client servers for NetBackup and other recovery software.
Perform routine backup maintenance tasks daily and resolve issues related to backup and recovery operations.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to performance, security, and system maintenance across operating systems, databases, and applications.
Plan, test, and support disaster recovery procedures, including failover and failback strategies.
Conduct regular restore tests to ensure data recoverability and system performance.
Participate in an on-call rotation and handle priority calls for backup and recovery issues.
Collaborate with vendors to resolve complex technical issues and implement best practices.
Generate, analyze, and present backup and recovery reports to management.
Contribute to the upskilling of cloud-based backup solutions and other evolving technologies.

o Managing the entire delivery of migrating SAP & non-SAP systems to Azure cloud
o Project planning, working with other vendors like SAP, Vnomics, System integrator, and customer to align on plan, publish plan, test management, cutover management etc.
o Regular project / program management activities to ensure schedule adherence, program communication, RAID log tracking & reporting, Weekly & monthly status reports, daily calls as required by program
o Offshore coordination for delivery of the work
o Working with team & coordinating cutover activities (prepare, track, publish) during go-live (would be done only on weekend)
o Needs to have decent understanding of SAP Basis & Cloud activities to enable meaningful conversations & meetings with client independently.
