Has an overall view of DG TAXUD IT systems or of a significant subset of them.
Performs high level and/or core design, ensures interoperability and identifies potential reuse.
Supervises the overall consistency of digital architecture within DG TAXUD and at Corporate level and guarantees that its design fulfils a set of requirements.
Define DG TAXUD reference architecture and its evolution, in alignment with Corporate architecture and influence the evolution of the latter.
Covers both digital and business aspects. The former aspect covers the “digital solution” needed to support the business, while the latter aspect includes mission, value chain, business strategy, business processes, functions and data.
Proposes systems, components and/or services architecture (e.g. SOA, microservices, eventdriven, serverless, API-first), COTS software products, standards.
Makes proposals for architecture governance.

Description Of The Tasks
Management of the ieCA project as a first priority, and all its components, including the interfacing with ICS2, CS/MIS2 and national Export and Transit systems from specification to deployment, testing, migration, entry in operation, conformance testing, and maintenance; Management of other Customs TES IT projects as a second priority;
Correct delivery of the Customs TES projects as defined in the Electronic Customs Multi-Annual Strategic Plan (MASP);
Correct functioning of the existing Customs TES IT systems and applications;
A Service Manager provides advice, guidance, consultancy and assistance to the responsible official(s) in regard to:
The management of the development and implementation of services in order to meet the business needs.
Ensuring maximum uptime, accurate and early incident response, appropriate configuration management, proactive maintenance and tuning;
The monitoring and reporting on operations and on capacity consumption, and liaison with all (internal and external) stakeholders.
The management and coordination of the service desk activities, ensuring that incident, problem, change, configuration and release management is delivered according to quality plans (FQPs) and to quality levels agreed in the Service Level Agreement (SLA).

Manage and follow up related activities, in particular those of external contractors, and the interdependencies of the several contractors’ activities, to ensure end-to-end delivery of all activities in a timely manner, typically towards a stringent policy deadline imposed by legislation. To follow up development and conformance testing activities of external partners: Member States and/or Traders;

Plan, prepare, coordinate, and monitor TES IT applications testing activities for all phases (including connectivity) with multiple subcontractors and with National Administrations;
Plan and coordinate the roll-out of TES IT applications to operation, new releases deployment to operations and application migration activities, including data migration;
Plan and coordinate with other teams the delivery and configuration of environment and connectivity required to perform subsequent testing and roll-out to operations;
Plan and coordinate integration activities with major platforms, other service applications providers and National Administrations application providers;
Participate and contribute in meetings with DG TAXUD, contractors, National Administrations States and/or other partners including preparing material for these meetings.
Report on the project status (tasks progress, plan, actions, risks, issues, decisions, changes, etc.) within DG TAXUD and/or with Member States or other partners;
