Petrofac is seeking a Contracts Engineer 3 - Contractor for 9 months based in Aberdeen, UK.
The role is outside IR35 and we invite Limited Companies to engage.
Scope Of Services:
The scope of services will be reviewed should there be a significant change to client support requirements.
A requirement to undertake additional services shall be mutually agreed by way of contract amendment.
Scope Of Services:
The Contractor shall provide the following services during the duration of the contract. Any additional services required shall be mutually agreed upon through a contract amendment:
Contract and Procurement Support:
Provide expert support for all contract and procurement activities required by the designated capital project(s).
Advise and execute contractual documentation on complex forms of ITT’s: Pre-FEED, FEED, Project execution activities, etc.
Develop the ITT package, including commercial structure and contract terms.
Launch ITTT and manage contractual qualification, exception review, and negotiation.
Evaluate commercial aspects of bids and recommend awards.
Offer claim preventive awareness through contract management methods during the tendering and early execution stages.
Support the project team in obtaining relevant approvals and navigating any required gates.
Execute and manage the required contracts.
Senior for Project Contract Engineering:
Define and coordinate contract methods for the entity, including the contract protocal, expertise requirements, and evaluation quizzes.
Ensure governance is followed for contract processes on projects within the designated perimeter, including ITT, RTA, and approvals.
Maintain regular contact with contract engineers/managers of projects within the designated perimeter.
Consult with SME’s in legal, tax, insurance, compliance as required.
Coordination with Petrofac and Client Entity:
Participate in overall coordination with Petrofac and client, including information sharing and action coordination for ongoing project within the designated perimeter.
Single Point of Contact (SPOC):
Act as the single point of contact for designated project.
Claim Management and Counterclaim Process:
Analyse and review existing contracts/claims, providing expertise support to project for contract/claim resolution during the execution and close-out phases.
Provide independent expertise on managing claims, including investigating and assessing the merit of major claims/disputes.
Provide recommendations for building claim dossiers and corresponding settlements.
Provide independent expertise in drafting correspondences and notices to contractors
Deliverables:
Services should be provided to enable production of the following deliverables where required as part of project specific works, specific clients and durations will be called off as part of the purchase order.
Key Deliverables To Include:
Execute the contract process end-to-end for discrete services.
Liaise with the procurement department to ensure timely placement of orders for discrete services.
Ensure client-approved, board-approved, compliant, and executed contracts.
Provide contractor expertise to ensure delivery-focused solutions.
Demonstrate fluency with LOGIC and other industry-standard contract principles and EPC style contracts.
Exhibit expertise with various remuneration models.
Prepare, negotiate, and administer contracts with a high level of expertise.
Provide independent expert knowledge of project phases
Provide independent advice and expertise for an claims with confirmed independent industry expertise.

JOB TITLE: JUNIOR CONTRACTS ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Subcontracts Manager (Wells), the Junior Contracts Engineer will support all subcontract activities related to designated Well Engineering operations in the support of all activities for the UK and Africa region.
In a busy and stimulating operational environment the Junior Contracts Engineer is required to support all Wells departmental and team duties.
Input to and update the departmental subcontracts plan, ensuring that it is delivered and any tendering activity is managed as per the contracting strategies.
Coordinate Subcontractor and Vendor Due diligence
Coordinate Subcontractor and Vendor registration
Coordinate any departmental contracts updates and maintain the associated register
Maintain the insurance log for all subcontracts
Raise and issue consultancy contracts and work orders
Support General team delivery including ad hoc requests as required.
Assist with the preparation and issuing of Invitation to Tender (ITT) packages
Prepare and issue to the selected contractors approved contracts and deal with subsequent contract amendments and Call off’s and purchase orders.
Liaise continuously with technical teams (Well Engineering, HSEQ and Logistics), clients where appropriate and sponsor departments
Maintain and log all subcontract change authorisations and amendments
Where appropriate liaise with legal, tax, insurance and compliance to obtain their input into subcontracts
Perform Rate analysis and maintain benchmarking catalogue.
Work with the Business Service lines to negotiate Master Services Agreement subcontract terms with suppliers in line with Petrofac Best Practice and prepare justification for any significant exceptions for senior management and legal approval, where appropriate
Ensure any agreed subcontract position is approved in line with the Delegation of Authority Matrix, with assistance of Wells SC Team.
Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role
Ensure strict confidentiality of all allocated subcontracts and ITT processes
Provide support to business development activities, where required
Promote a performance culture, including focus on performance and value creation
Assist in the resolution of subcontract claims and disputes.

Degree in Law, Law & Management or Quantity Surveying preferred but not essential

JOB TITLE: DEPLOYMENT HUB LOGISTICS COORDINATOR
Key Responsibilities
The Logistics Coordinators will support the successful performance of day-to-day cross functional service delivery for their assigned contract.
Be the focal point for offshore personnel on the specified contract and ensure all client requirements are met.
Working with the Contract Support Lead, foster strong relationships through effective communication and consistent support with both the offshore workforce and the client (where relevant).
Proactively address and resolve service challenges for employees and the client, ensuring client satisfaction and adherence to contractual requirements and Petrofac governance.
Maintain a team approach across the Logistics team and the wider Deployment Hub working together to ensure client priorities are met.
Prepare detailed reports on cross functional performance.
Ensure all new starts are onboarded correctly.
Ensure personnel have completed onboarding requirements including CBTs.
Carry out mobilisation activities.
Flight bookings where relevant.
Manage and book PPE.
Book Hotels, monitor/report on no shows and carry out daily invoice checks as per process.

Carry out inductions as part of the induction delivery rota.
Carry out root cause analysis regularly as problems occur.

JOB TITLE: SENIOR CONTRACTS ENGINEER
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Commercial Director, the Senior Contracts Engineer will manage allocated contract activities for Asset Solutions in the support of tenders and existing client contract management.
Working alongside the commercial team, the Senior Contracts Engineer is required to work on their own initiative, effectively managing timelines received and dealing directly with all key business stakeholders to execute required contract documentation in line with Petrofac best practice.
The Senior Contracts Engineer will be required to work with the technical and functional specialists to review, draft, negotiate and finalise contractual documentation where Petrofac are providing services to its clients
Prepare contractual responses to ITT’s and proposal requests from Clients:
Review and qualify clients T&C’s in line with Petrofac procedures and best practice.
Manage the review and negotiation process and coordinate with all team members as required
Work with the technical team to develop and align contractual responses taking into account the scope of work.
Coordinate input and work with all Petrofac stakeholders including Compliance, Legal, Finance, Insurance, Tax, Security etc.
Coordinate and manage the contract review process
Ensure the contractual position is approved in line with Petrofac’s Risk Review process and work with the commercial team to ensure all required approvals are obtained taking into account the scope in question
Maintain approval records and close out actions.
Develop and negotiate MOU’s and Collaboration Agreements with key partners to support business growth.
Review and negotiate confidentiality agreements.
Work with the commercial and operational management team to ensure that service delivery is compliant with contractual terms.
Support the subcontracts team in ensuring that risk is appropriately flowed down to the relevant subcontracts on a back-to-back basis.
Advising the team on matters of contractual interpretation, identification of and management of key contractual risks in support in the resolution of contractual claims and disputes.
Promote consistency of approach and the adoption of best practice throughout all regions.
Maintain adherence to strong contracting processes and procedures while working.
Gain a full understanding of company procedures and processes and follow these principles in all aspects of the role.
Essential Qualifications And Skills
Legal degree or similar equivalent
Experience in a similar role is preferred.
Knowledge and experience of LOGIC and in general key contracting principles.
Strong experience reviewing, drafting and negotiating terms and conditions.
Experience working within an active and lively operational team.
Ability to work independently and have excellent communication, listening and presentation skills.
Excellent organisation skills.
Self-starter with the ability to work under own initiative and meet tight deadlines.
