Senior Python Engineer is required for a specialist global cross-asset manager across liability driven investment, fixed income, multi-asset and absolute return strategies. With an internal trading team the firm offers a broad range of Fixed Income products to their end clients.
As they embark on a transformative journey to revamp their systems, they're seeking a strong Senior Python Engineer, to shape the future of their trading platforms.
This Senior Python Engineer will, via technology, help to enable growth whilst automating and improving reporting & complex calculations across areas including Market Risk, Clearing Risk, Counterparty Risk and Operational Risk.
The Software Developer role focuses on streamlining data into a centralised management system to enhance process automation and develop user-friendly interfaces and visualisation tools for Business Intelligence.
Key responsibilities include:
Developing the internal Risk Portal by transitioning legacy in-house and acquired systems into a modernised user platform.
Expanding Python capabilities and contributing to the development of Market Risk Limits and Potential Future Exposure (PFE) engines.
Enhance the Risk Portal platform by integrating legacy systems (e.g., Error Reporting and Counterparty Limits Approvals).
Support the Lead Risk Python Developer in designing and improving the trading systems.
Assist the Lead Risk Python Developer in building and refining the improving the trading systems.
Optimise metrics and KPIs to maximise the value derived from data assets.
This Senior Python Engineer role is a 6 month rolling contract. Multi year renewal
Rate on this Senior Python Engineer role is paying up to £650 per day, Inside IR35
Hybrid working: 2 days – City of London
Python, Django/Flask/FastAPI, Front-Office Trading
Essential Skills:
Extensive Python experience
Experience with the Django/Flask/FastAPI framework
Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.

Key Responsibilities
Lead the design, execution, and documentation of functional and performance tests for a public-facing REST and gRPC API.
Actively participate in user story discussions to define and refine acceptance criteria.
Develop and execute integration tests using Cucumber.
Conduct both manual and automated tests, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
Record detailed test evidence and results within JIRA.
Collaborate with the development team to integrate testing seamlessly into the CI/CD pipeline.
Test additional components, including public-facing admin and documentation portals, with a focus on the API's critical functionality.
Required Skills & Experience
API Testing: Proficient in executing functional and non-functional tests on public-facing REST APIs developed in Node.js.
Automation Expertise: Hands-on experience writing automation tests using Cucumber.
Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, and JavaScript.
Test Case Definition: Experience defining BDD test cases in JIRA and documenting execution evidence.
Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using Postman for load testing and API endpoint validation.
DevOps Integration: Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their integration with QA processes.
Agile Environment: Comfortable working in agile teams, with excellent communication and collaboration skills.

React.JS, AG Grid, Front-End Engineer | Payments, FX & Trading Systems – Greenfield | £700/Day Inside IR35 | 12 Months rolling | Hybrid 3-days | London
React.JS, Front-End Engineer is required for a payments FX Trading House working on the client’s main payment system which is internationally used. Due to different countries and legislations in the payment space the application will need bespoke greenfield features for each of the locations. Once this project has gone live across the globe, the team will transition onto a new greenfield project (this will be post 12 months’ time).
For this React.JS, Front-End Engineer role you will need to have strong experience working with React.JS, Typescript, AG Grid, Auth0 and Node.JS. The backend of the system is built in C# and .NET, so having some experience working in this environment is advantageous but not essential.
As a React.JS, Front-End Engineer, you’ll be responsible for building and testing components of the payments FX trading system and digital client experience platform, and driving forwards the end goal of fully automated, cloud-native software delivery that allows delivery with speed and true agility.
As a React.JS, Front-End Engineer, you’ll be working on Greenfield builds as well as enhancements of their Fixed Income trading portal
This React.JS, Front-End Engineer role is a 12-month rolling contract. Multi year renewal
Rate on this React.JS Developer Role, is paying up to £700 per day, Inside IR35
Hybrid working: 3 days a week from the London-based Offices, a few minutes' walk from Liverpool Street Station.

Experience needed for this React.JS Engineer Role;
Commercial experience in React.JS for front-end development and C# for back-end development.
