Cloud ETL Engineer
Location: Edinburgh / Remote

Key Responsibilities
ETL Design & Development:
Design and implement ETL workflows to process structured data from Oracle databases, applying transformation rules as specified by business and data analysts.
Data Transformation & Cleaning:
Apply data transformation and cleaning logic, ensuring data integrity, accuracy, and adherence to defined retention policies.
Cloud Integration:
Integrate ETL jobs into a cloud data pipeline, ensuring seamless interaction with cloud-based storage and processing services, specifically within AWS.
Optimization & Error Handling:
Optimize ETL jobs for performance, scalability, and error handling to ensure smooth and efficient data processing.
Collaboration:
Work closely with Cloud Data Engineers and other team members to ensure ETL workflows integrate smoothly with overall cloud data infrastructure and meet project objectives.
Monitoring & Troubleshooting:
Continuously monitor ETL workflows, troubleshoot issues, and resolve performance or reliability concerns, ensuring high availability and reliability of data pipelines.
Experience:
3+ years of hands-on experience in ETL workflow development and optimization.
Proficiency with AWS services like Glue, Lambda, and S3.
Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, or similar languages.
Solid understanding of Oracle database structures and cloud data processing.
Experience in data cleaning, transformation, and enforcing retention policies.
Desirable Qualifications
Certifications:
AWS Certified Data Analytics or Solutions Architect certification.
Experience:
Familiarity with large-scale data warehouses in cloud environments.
Experience integrating ETL workflows with data engineering pipelines.
BPSS Clearance: Required (or willingness to undergo process)

Energy Manager
ASA are seeking an experienced Energy Manager to work alongside a client in the public sector to support their commitment to sustainability, compliance, and energy efficiency across a multi-site estate. This role involves managing utility supply arrangements, optimizing energy use, and supporting the organisations Net-Zero Carbon Emissions Strategies.
The role will be based in Edinburgh for an initial 6 month contract, 35 hours per week £190-£200 per day.
Key Responsibilities
· Utility Supply Management: Manage utility supply arrangements, liaise with suppliers, and support invoice validation and processing.
· Energy Monitoring & Reporting: Forecast, monitor, and benchmark utility consumption, preparing accurate data and insights for decision-making.
· Stakeholder Guidance: Provide technical and practical advice on energy optimisation to internal and external stakeholders.
· Sustainability Initiatives: Identify, review, and implement energy initiatives that support sustainable energy use across the SPS estate.
· Project Input: Analyse design drawings and technical specifications, offering recommendations on energy efficiency measures for new builds and refurbishments.
· Policy Development: Contribute to the development and implementation of policies to reduce SPS’s carbon footprint and ensure compliance with relevant legislation, such as The Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.
· BEMS Coordination: Oversee the efficient operation of Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS) across the SPS estate, including system controls and monitoring.
Key requirements
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
· Degree in Energy Management, Environmental Studies, or a related Engineering discipline within building services.
· Proven experience in utilities contracts and energy management in a building services environment, particularly with large-scale mechanical and electrical systems.
· Expertise in Building Energy Management Systems (BEMS), including energy monitoring, sub-metering, and system controls.
Desirable Skills:
· Comprehensive knowledge of major utility supply arrangements for multi-site organisations.
· Familiarity with energy efficiency measures and strategies in large-scale facilities.
