Job Description
Copello are currently recruiting for multiple Systems Engineers to join a growing consultancy within the Defence sector that support a world leader in missile systems in Bristol, with a minimum of 3 days per week on site.
Our client has multiple requirements across Level 4 and Level 5. If you are interested, and would like to learn more, please get in touch on the details provided.
17x Level 4 Systems Engineers
You will need to have a minimum of 10 years experience, while rates on offer will be between £46-56p/h Outside IR35.
2x Level 5 Systems Engineers
You will need to have a minimum of 15 years experience, while rates on offer will be between £59-71p/h Outside IR35.
Please note, due to the nature of the work, applications are only open to Sole British Nationals and will ideally have active Security Clearance.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide Systems Engineering Services within the Missile Architecture Function.
Collaborate with the Missile Architecture project plateau team to develop, deliver and/or maintain a missile product.

Job Description
Urgent requirement for a Linux Engineer on a 6-12 month contract in Herefordshire. The role will require active DV Clearance, while applications are only open to British Born nationals due to the nature of the work.

Linux Engineer
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Red Hat Linux Engineer to join our clients team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in administering and supporting Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) environments, ensuring high availability, system performance, and security for critical systems
Key Responsibilities:
• System Administration: Manage and maintain Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems across multiple environments (development, staging, production).
• Installation and Configuration: Install, configure, and deploy new RHEL systems, applications, and services in a reliable and scalable manner.
• Security Management: Implement and monitor security policies, system hardening, and regular patching of Red Hat Linux servers to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Automation: Develop and maintain automation scripts for system provisioning, updates, and maintenance tasks using tools like Ansible or Shell scripting.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide second- and third-line support for RHEL-based systems, diagnose and resolve issues related to system performance, networking, storage, and application deployments.
• Performance Tuning: Monitor and optimize system performance, ensuring resource utilization is efficient and bottlenecks are minimized.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery: Ensure regular backups are performed and implement disaster recovery plans to protect critical systems and data.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation on system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
• Collaboration: Work closely with other IT teams (network, storage, security, etc.) and developers to ensure seamless system integration and operation.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with the latest Red Hat technologies and industry trends, and recommend improvements to enhance system performance, reliability, and security.
Experience:
• Experience managing Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.
• Experience with system configuration, administration, and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
• Strong understanding of system security concepts, including user permissions, SELinux, firewalls, and security updates.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring and alerting tools.
• Familiarity with virtualisation platforms (e.g., HyperV or VMWare).
Certifications:
• Red Hat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA) or Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) preferred.
Skills:
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and best practices.
• Working with RHEL in air gapped environment using and managing offline repositories desirable.
