The Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Full-Stack Software Engineer to take ownership of the company’s technology infrastructure. This role will involve you leading the architecture, development, and enhancement of bespoke systems, integrating AI/ML solutions, and driving automation to optimise data-driven decision-making. You will work closely with senior leadership to ensure the firm maintains its competitive technological edge.
Key Responsibilities
Systems Development & Management:
Oversee and manage the entire technical infrastructure supporting investment activities.
Design, maintain, and optimise core systems (GCP, Affinity CRM, Tray.io, dbt) to ensure efficiency, security, and reliability.
Automate workflows and integrate tools to streamline investment processes, data collection, and founder engagement.
Identify and resolve cross-stack technical challenges.
Technology Innovation:
Stay informed on emerging trends in cloud engineering, AI, and automation, implementing tools that enhance the company’s technology stack.
Develop strategies to source high-potential startups using innovative datasets and technologies while improving investor workflows through automation.
Data & AI Strategy:
Build robust data pipelines to unify internal and external datasets, supporting deal flow, lead scoring, portfolio performance tracking, and market analysis.
Implement AI-driven solutions, including:
Advanced lead scoring and natural language processing (NLP) for deal sourcing.
Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) for document repositories.
Stakeholder Collaboration:
Work closely with the investment team to translate data insights into actionable strategies.
Provide training and support to non-technical users on system capabilities and data tools.
About You
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in technology-driven problem-solving, with a strong foundation in back-end engineering and exposure to front-end development and AI.
Proficiency in GCP (BigQuery, Dataflow, Cloud Functions) or equivalent cloud platforms.
Strong understanding of cloud architectures, including microservices, REST/GraphQL APIs, and databases.
Expertise in Python/Node.js and modern frameworks.
Experience with CRM systems (e.g., Affinity) and workflow automation tools (e.g., Tray.io).
Familiarity with data engineering principles, ELT tools (e.g., dbt), and data warehouses (e.g., BigQuery).
DevOps experience (e.g., Terraform) is advantageous.
Practical experience with applied AI, including generative AI (GenAI) tools, model fine-tuning, and backend integration.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
