The Senior Manager – Data and AI Engineering role is a senior hands on technical role. It will be accountable for leading our Data and AI Engineering and Machine Learning (ML) Ops teams in the UK and India for deliverables across UK & Ireland.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
• Hands on Leadership of the Data and AI Engineering teams and ML Ops capability based in the UK and India• Increase the capability and standards of our Engineering and ML Ops function• Lead the evolution of our data engineering framework on Azure Databricks• Work with the Principal AI engineer of the adaptation and evolution of our Gen AI Platform• Develop and socialise Data, AI and ML Ops standards across our data engineering and data science practices• Assist in the creation of solution designs for the approval by our architecture, governance and security functions• Develop and implement patterns to ingest and analyse unstructured data • Ensure cost efficient data operations on the platform • Ensure delivery of robust and efficient data pipelines and architectures that support our data science teams• Stay abreast of the latest industry trends and technologies, integrating new technology and best practices into the team's workflows where appropriate• Implement, maintain and evangelise best practices for data engineering, including data governance, security, and compliance.• Optimize performance, scalability, and efficiency of data pipelines and ML Ops processes• Drive continuous improvement initiatives, leveraging feedback and performance metrics to enhance team effectiveness and project outcomes.• Minimise consumption and storage costs across our Azure Databricks platform
This role will define, document and enforce data and ML engineering standards. It will have accountability for the performant and efficient build and operation of data components on our Azure Databricks Cloud platform. The role will be responsible for ensuring that we are utilizing the optimal software components on the platform and will own our data ingestion patterns and ML Ops practice.
You will need:
• Experience delivering data engineering solutions in cross functional environments• Experience of leading data engineering teams / ML Ops functions and supporting Data Science teams in cross functional environments• Deep understanding of Azure services, including Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse Analytics, Azure Storage, and Azure ML• Proficiency in managing and optimizing cloud resources for performance and cost-efficiency• Extensive experience with Databricks, including Spark SQL, Delta Lake, and Databricks clusters• Experience in deploying, monitoring, and optimizing machine learning models in a production environment• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, and SQL• Knowledge of scripting languages for automation and orchestration• Experience with DevOps practices• Familiarity with containerization • Excellent written, oral communication and advocacy skills, with demonstrable experience of prioritising effectively, managing diverse and multiple stakeholders

The role of an experienced Analytics Manager will sit within the Analytics team and will work closely with the Head of Commercial Analytics, Head of Decision Sciences, onshore and offshore BI teams, 3rd party providers and other sources.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
• Lead deployment of specific analytics projects and initiatives – e.g. growth of customer service agreements, development of store segmentation, small and big box delivery forecasting, drivers of online conversion, omnichannel conversion optimisation, product attribute analytics and range optimisation, etc.Stakeholder and Relationship Management• Stakeholder management: build relationships with business teams, understand their requirements, and drive collaborative way of working with colleagues in the data analytics community • Gather business requirements and translate them into a scope for a data analytics solution• Working with senior colleagues, develop an approach and a detailed plan for the delivery of the solution • Lead the delivery of an analytical solution. This will include hands on technical work as well as providing support and leadership to junior members of the team (both UK and off-shore)• Test and peer review work produced by colleagues in the team • Contribute to knowledge sharing by presenting at team meetings and internal forums, contributing to the knowledge code library, sharing best practice and promoting the work delivered by the data analytics team across the Currys• Recruit and develop analytical talent across the business• Strengthen relationships with leading institutions
The purpose of this role is to manage and deliver a variety of data analytics projects from start to finish. This can range from developing small analytics solutions to inform specific business questions to working as a part of a team on complex data science projects. Cross-functional delivery will require collaboration and co-ordination of response involving several teams across the business.
You will need:
• Excellent problem-solving skills - able to break down complex problems into core components; identify key drivers of performance and change; link back into wider business context• Strategic thinker – able to understand the business challenges and opportunities these provide• Understand core analytical techniques; highly numerate and financially literate• Able to communicate data and insight easily to various functions at all levels of the business – ability to distil findings at the appropriate level for the audience • Ability to work with stakeholders across the business at all levels. • Ability to prioritise multiple conflicting requests and communicate reasons why to stakeholders • Understanding of how to manage external suppliers / off-shore teams /internal teams.• Can develop/ inspire confidence / loyalty within junior members; mentor junior members of the team in the delivery of data analytics projects• Calm under pressure; detail oriented; pragmatic; self-aware• Experience CPG or Retail sector

As the Service Design and Transition Lead at Currys, you will be responsible for overseeing the design, transition, and operational readiness of IT services. Your role will involve governing the project lifecycle to ensure a successful handover from project delivery into Operations.
Role overview:
As part of this role, you'll be responsible for:
• Develop and implement a Service Design and Transition Plan aligned with strategic objectives and Project Delivery Plans, ensuring service readiness and effective transition outcomes. • Craft and confirm effective support models that precisely delineate and manage a multi-partner and platform technology ecosystem.• Ensure that solutions comply with observability standards, facilitating prompt and proactive/predictive reactions to possible service outages and performance degradation.• Manage relationships with internal, client, and senior stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business requirements and project goals. • Oversee the integration of Non-Functional Requirements from inception, manage the transition of Run Costs to budget holders, and ensure operational sustainability beyond project lifecycles. • Equip operational teams with necessary service training and runbooks, and produce high-quality service design, transition documents, and a comprehensive Supplier Handbook. • Advocate the Service Assurance framework, drive continuous process enhancements, and represent service readiness in the Service Assurance Board. • Foster a collaborative culture, drive early engagement and integrate Service Management principles into solution architectures for operational excellence.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include developing and implementing a Service Design and Transition Plan, managing relationships with stakeholders, overseeing operational and financial aspects, providing training and documentation, driving continuous process enhancements, fostering cross-functional collaboration, coordinating Early Life Support, and making key decisions on service design and transition strategies.
You will need:
• Strong background in IT Service Management, including comprehensive knowledge of various service management processes and operational modalities, ensuring operational effectiveness and strategic alignment.• Demonstrated experience in leading service design and transition within Agile frameworks and integrating services into a DevOps operating model, highlighting adaptability and innovation. • Skilled in managing relationships with diverse stakeholders and multiple vendors• Ability to oversee a diverse project portfolio, understanding different project delivery methodologies (Agile and Waterfall) and to act as an enabler for the smooth delivery and transition of Services into Live Service. • Well-versed in key technologies, particularly cloud services and DevOps practices, along with proficiency in essential tools like ServiceNow, SharePoint, Excel, and Jira. • Excellent communication skills paired with the ability to produce and articulate high-quality service design and transition documentation, ensuring clarity and alignment across teams. • Committed to exceptional customer service, demonstrating a proactive approach to exceeding customer expectations while driving results and operational excellence.
