The Community You Will Join
We are building a new set of tools to make it easier for people to connect and host on Airbnb. Our team focuses specifically on co-hosting and ways to make it easier for hosts to connect with co-hosts.
As part of the team and in collaboration with engineering teams based in San Francisco, you will focus on elevating this project to a global scale with new functionality. You’ll be able to work on exciting, innovative and technically challenging work, supporting a major company strategy while finding solutions in areas such as UX, scale, performance, robustness and quality.
The Difference You Will Make
Own key company level problem statements and drive critical projects
Lead the scoping phase, the technical requirements and the implementation of the new functionality
Partner closely with other Engineering teams and cross functional partners including PM, Design, Data, and TPM.
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning
A Typical Day
Architect and implement complex features, focusing on data-driven decision making and performance optimizations
Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional partners across Co Hosting and organizations such as Listings and Users to understand and prioritize technical requirements
Proactively grows knowledge of leading edge practices and trends involving workflow orchestration systems
Help define and improve coding standards, development processes and best practices
Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning
Your Expertise
5+ years of experience in a hands-on software engineering role in backend/full-stack development
Bachelor’s and/or Master/PhD’s degree, preferably in CS, or equivalent experience
Considerable experience working in Java and/or Kotlin
Passionate about efficiency, availability, technical quality and system quality
Excellent communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work well within engineering organization and cross functions
Demonstrated expertise in backend systems within large-scale service-oriented architectures
Ability to drive alignment, manage projects and effectively collaborate with stakeholders.

Airbnb for Business (A4B) is building a highly motivated sales team to acquire companies (B2B), and drive usage of Airbnb for Business. Companies can be the next virality channel for Airbnb by better merchandising all Airbnb offerings, including experiences, services, meeting spaces, and travel.
The Difference You Will Make
As a Senior Market Manager, Airbnb for Business, you will be focused on identifying and closing corporate clients in defined target verticals along with fostering strategic relationships with those that represent the most significant opportunity for growth. You will be expected to develop and own the strategy for achieving your sales targets. In addition, you must show that you can partner effectively with your clients and drive constructive data analysis to improve the process, build for the future, and successfully grow the amount of spend. You report directly to the Global Lead, Airbnb for Business and will partner closely with your peers to ensure a consistent, data-driven feedback loop to cross-functional A4B stakeholders including Product, Operations, Program Management, and Data Science.
A Typical Day
Develop and own the strategy for achieving your sales goals
Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage the entire sales cycle including prospecting, engagement, discovery, closing, onboarding, and strategic account management
Develop trusted advisor relationships with target accounts, customer stakeholders, and Executive sponsors
Demonstrate ability to communicate, present to, and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organization, including Executive and C-Level
Facilitate on-boarding and connectivity roll-outs for your A4B accounts
Conduct regular group-wide webinars & training sessions to educate existing and new users on A4B products

Clearly communicate the progress of key initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
Collaborate with the Sales/Account Management Team to identify opportunities for growth within key accounts

Your Expertise
8+ years prior experience selling SaaS, travel lodging products or Corporate booking solutions in B2B sales with a proven record of success
Excellent written and verbal communication; sales; and negotiation skills.
Creative seller who is comfortable adapting a pitch to various audiences.
Comfort with a fast-paced environment and changing requirements. Startup experience is a plus.
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty and ambiguity.
Data driven, can do attitude, strategic thinker and passion for new products and solutions.
Comfortable with Excel, Google Docs, Salesforce CRM, and other technology solutions for driving sales.

The Difference You Will Make
Local leadership and engagement: partner closely with the France and Benelux Community lead to understand priorities, trends, risks, and opportunities
Local innovation and implementation: apply playbooks and impact pilots and civic engagement projects
Optimize central strategy for Host Growth, Engagement and Impact, which includes Policy and Commercial outcomes
Measure and understand the needs of our Host Community both qualitatively and quantitatively. You are the France and Benelux Community custodian for balancing the needs of our Host Community with those of Airbnb
Responsibilities
A Typical Day:
Co-develop, implement and drive the territory execution of the operating system, including delivery of highly impactful Monthly Business Reviews for France and Benelux
Localise and track and report on the local community KPIs
Develop and unlock collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders and functions, including Market Managers, Policy Managers, Central Community team and EMEA Community Managers
Work closely with the France and Benelux Community Lead to support short and long-term Growth, Engagement, and Impact goals, including Business and Policy objectives
Working with XFN leaders to leverage Host feedback and improve local programs and the platform
Regional Innovation and Implementation
Localize central playbooks to make it locally relevant, and based on feedback from Community Leaders, and increase product adoption (via toolkits, webinars, newsletters, meetups, summits)
Create and run result-driven, community-driven and scalable initiatives (including community, business impact, and civic engagement initiatives)
Support in the planning and logistics of online and offline events, including annual Leader Summit
Support the education of Hosts on all significant product changes and cascade feedback to the relevant internal stakeholders
Coordinate with the Host Community in France and Benelux on day-to-day community leaders’ tasks, significant events / campaigns
Measurement and Communication
Own clear communication from the local team on performance against monthly and annual OKRs
Identify and escalate reporting issues, gaps in processes, and performance issues, and drive timely resolutions
Performance tracking/reporting - assessing performance of Host Clubs, community tools; emails, and webinars, with recommendations to improve
Review Host Club engagement, sharing relevant content with cross-functional teams
Provide specific feedback and insights to your Leaders on their performance and how they can improve
Your Expertise
Fluent in French and English. Preferably in Flemish / Dutch as well. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong leader with 5+ years of related work experience, particularly in Community Building, Strategy and Innovation in France, Belgium and/or the Netherlands
Preferably familiar with the France and Benelux tech and tourism industry
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work autonomously while managing multiple projects simultaneously
Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with an analytical mindset
Proven experience working cross-functionally
Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels, with a proven track record to execute in ambiguous environments
Experience with the following tools is a plus: Salesforce, Facebook Groups, Asana
Passion for Airbnb travel, and the sharing economy - being an Airbnb host is a plus

Across the EMEA region, we are engaged in well over a hundred local conversations and negotiations with governments big and small. We engage governments at local, regional and national levels directly and also use innovative advocacy and partnership strategies that actively involve our community and our stakeholders in making the case for fair, progressive home sharing rules.

Head of Government Affairs and Public Policy Campaigns - France, Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg is responsible for developing and executing fully integrated Policy strategic engagement plans in the region and leading the local team, under the direction of the Director of Public Policy and Campaigns, EMEA. You ensure that internal stakeholders understand the campaign strategy and plans, and that information is flowing smoothly to everyone with a “need to know”. You ensure that progress is being reported regularly, and that roadblocks and successes are being flagged appropriately. You are able to confidently communicate with senior leaders about your campaign’s priorities, to manage expectations where required and to coordinate with other teams to achieve greater goals.
External Advocacy: you represent Airbnb at the most senior political levels in your geography, and with the media. You ensure that Airbnb builds and maintains relationships with the widest possible network of contacts in local, regional and national legislative, executive and administrative offices, and also with coalitions who can advance Airbnb’s advocacy initiatives.
Your Expertise
At least 15 years experience working with complex political or regulatory issues in relevant business or non-governmental organisation, or in a political, governmental or regulatory context. Ideally, this experience has been built in travel, urbanism or technology.
Ability to navigate a complex political or regulatory environment. Advanced knowledge of the political landscape and legislative processes in France and the EU, is essential.
Ability to quickly get up to speed on complex technical and regulatory issues, and understand how these can be managed using a broad range of campaigning strategies;
Senior leadership experience, with track record of managing, supporting and developing diverse multidisciplinary teams; Proven ability in core management skills - effective delegation, empowerment, performance management, coaching and talent development;
Experience of managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders. Ability to multi-task by prioritizing work and coordinating required support across various functions to achieve project goals and objectives
