This is a remote position located in the United Kingdom.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer you will be embedded within the Non-Employee Risk Management team to build and maintain resilient, secure and efficient SaaS applications. You will work closely with Software Engineers and DevOps Engineers alike. You will take on the role of subject matter expert of DevOps within your application team(s). You will report directly to the Manager, NERM DevOps on the Non-Employee Risk Management product team.
What you will make happen:
Partner with the Non-Employee Risk Management Application Teams to build and maintain resilient, secure, and efficient SaaS (software as a service) applications that meet established SLAs (service level agreements)
Automate deployment, monitoring, management, and incident response
Monitor site stability and performance and troubleshoot service issues
Automate the scaling infrastructure to meet rapidly increasing demand
Manage cross-functional requirements working with Engineering, Product, and Centralized DevOps teams to maintain core platform standards while supporting rapid service development.
Collaborate with developers to bring new features and services into production
Develop and improve operational practices and procedures
Proactively meet standards for information security and compliance, such as (but not limited to) ISO27001, SOC1, SOC2, IRAP, C5, etc.
Must be willing to be part of an on-call rotation
Gather and analyze metrics from operating systems as well as applications to assist in performance tuning and fault finding
Participate in system design consulting, platform management, and capacity planning
Create sustainable systems and services through automation and uplifts
Balance feature development speed and reliability with well-defined service-level objectives
Background & Experience:
5+ years of experience in 24x7 production operations, preferably supporting a highly available environment for a SaaS or cloud service provider
5+ years of experience with cloud infrastructure environments; AWS strongly preferred
Release automation (GitHub Actions preferred) with CI/CD pipelines
Linux administration, and Linux debugging experience , RHCE or similar desired
Experience using programming languages (Python, Ruby on Rails) to manage cloud environments at scale
Experience in the following: MongoDB, SQL, HashiStack, Kafka, Redis, kubernetes
Strong understanding of system and networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques
Ability to operate in an agile environment that is rapidly evolving
Have excellent communication skills- English fluency of C1 or higher preferred
Bachelor's degree in computer science or other technical discipline, or equivalent experience is preferred, but not required.
