Data Engineer (SQL Focussed) - 18 month FTC
Leicester/hybrid
Salary up to £50,000 per annum, plus generous benefits package
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a well known organisation in the financial services sector. As the new Data Engineer you will play a crucial part in delivering the finance regulatory reporting project for the company, and will be offered plenty of autonomy and support in order to do so.
Key responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data for business and regulatory reporting.
Optimize SQL Server databases, ensuring high performance, reliability, and scalability.
Collaborate with business analysts, data scientists, and other stakeholders to understand data requirements.
Monitor, troubleshoot, and resolve issues in existing data workflows to maintain seamless data operations.
Perform data quality checks to ensure accuracy and integrity across all pipelines.
Document technical designs, processes, and workflows to maintain knowledge sharing and compliance.
Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure data solutions meet compliance standards.
Skills required:
Experience as a Data Engineer or similar role (preferably in the financial services sector).
Knowledge of regulatory reporting requirements in the financial sector, particularly those related to data reporting, compliance, and audits.
Expertise in SQL Server and data warehousing methodologies.
Experience in schema design, data integration, ETL orchestration using SSIS or Snap Logic (preferred), and optimisation techniques.
Proficient in the Microsoft Stack, including .NET, C#, and SSRS.
Excellent skills in SPROC and Function development to support the SQL environment.
Desirable skills:
Experience with Azure and cloud technologies is a plus.
Familiarity with MS Common Data Model and MS Dynamics
Experience with ETLs, Snap Logic and exposure to Power Platform
