Windows Engineer with PowerShell specilisation– Quant Trading

£100,000-150,000 plus benefits and bonus Hybrid

Quant Capital is urgently looking for a Windows PowerShell Engineer to join our high-profile client.

This is an environment of Google or a startup where tech is number 1 with a huge budget allocated towards technology. The firm is known globally for its attitudes and rigour more importantly, you will be surrounded by smart people deeply interested learning and in teaching what they know, as well as learning from you.

My client is a very well know quantitative trading firm and marketmaker. This team has some of the best minds in Windows and Powershell Engineering.

My client has a mixed Windows and Linux environment spread across physical and virtual machines. This position suits a talented Windows Engineer with an appetite to fidn the best way to solve a problem and a strong level of Powershell programming and automation focus.

As an Engineer you will focus on platform engineering designs, maintaining the firm's operating systems, authentication systems, databases, virtualization infrastructure, core network services, and messaging as well as endpoints on Windows and Linux in both our internal- and external-facing environments.

You will will be tasked with the design, implementation, and integration of infrastructure systems, on Windows-based systems

The ideal Windows Engineer will have:
A STEM degree
Significant Windows systems automation experience is required.
Powershell (ideally some c# exposure)
An in-depth understanding of the Windows platform and related technologies (e.g., Active Directory and Failover Clustering) is required, as are excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, and familiarity with a variety of tracing tools.
Experience with common Windows Server applications and management tools (e.g., Exchange, SQL, SCCM, Hyper-V, and ADFS, etc.) is also preferred.
A working knowledge of network protocols, Linux, and information security concepts is
Experience integrating systems across on-premises and cloud-based environments
Experience working with containers on Windows and Linux is preferred.
This role suits a candidate who has had responsibility early on in their career, someone who has worked in smaller agile companies with continual change. You must be hands-on and have excellent experience of working in a demanding or jack-of-all-trades but a specialist environment. You will also be a techie motivated by technology.
